Crabhunter
I have a very old hda which someone kindly patched for me years ago and has worked with all versions up until Sierra. It might have worked with High Sierra but I skipped that version. Unfortunately it doesn't work in Mojave and is causing crashes back to the login screen. I have tried following guides in the past to update later hda.kexts but my working one is so old it doesn't seem to be the same format as in the guides. Would someone be kind enough to see if they could update mine for me. I've attached my working hda, a virgin mojave hda and my dsdt. I'm pretty sure my audio is alc269 Thanks in advance. Crabhunter
I've just run DPCI on my Sierra partition and my codec is ALC269.

You may need to experiment with the various layouts listed. https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/wiki https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/releases https://github.com/acidanthera/Lilu/releases Thanks, that will have to wait until after the weekend now. Is it not an easy job to edit the Mojave hda with the information in my working hda? Mike
Crabhunter
I've given AppleALC and Lilu a go but they don't work. I think my only option is to edit my HDA. My problem is the guide I tried following several years ago doesn't say how to adapt the data in an old hda to the newer type. If anyone could have a go at trying to get mine to work I'd be eternally grateful. Also sound has never worked in HDMI but I'm not too worried about that as I never use it. Crabhunter
I'm glad to report I've got sound working I'm using the latest version of Voodoo and disabler which hasn't worked for me in the past. I've just got to get ethernet working now and then I can rest. Mike
