I spend the last week getting MacOS 10.13.6 running on my Aspire 7 a715 72g 76wl with succes.

Though I have only 7mb vram, touchpad isn'tt working and there is no sound (similair to @neotec00  though he had a different OS and Aspire so I don't think it is smart to follow that post :P)

Now I am aware that this is basic stuff but I tried many things (voodoo kext for the touchpad, and alc kext for the audio codec with injected codes) but none of them seem to work out.

If anybody could help me with the video only, I'd be extremely happy.

Touchpad and audio would be really cool too, but for me less important.

These are the specs of my laptop:

  • CPU: i7-8750H/HM370

  • GTX 1050, 1920x1080
  • Audio Codec: Realtek ALC255-CG with Resolution support 16/20/24bit PCM.
  • Touchpad is SP5WIP1M (FA577E-1206) with I2C/PS2 Dual Interface.
  • Drives: 1TB HD  + APFS SSD 255,85GB with mac OS

Your config.plist is a mess. Renaming EHCx to EH0x on Skylake+ is useless because EHCI controller has been removed.

Choose an appropriate SMBIOS, not MacBookPro8,1. MacBookPro15,1 is better (Coffee Lake CPU).

To get audio working, HDAS has to be renamed HDEF.

Thank you Foskvs for your fast answer. I am sorry for the mess, I just followed a standard hackintosh laptop guide. To be honest, after a flawless desktop hackintosh, I hoped that this laptop would go smooth as well. Unfortunately it is much much harder.

I did the 15,1 as you suggested, but the laptop gave an error ‘This version of mac osx is not supported on this platform’ . So I booted with USB again to change it to one lower: 14,3.

I removed and added the Hex you suggested. Also I followed the audio guide that injected the ALC supported codes for ALC255, along with the AppleALC.kext but without luck, the audio drivers are not detected.

You are using a serial number from a real Mac. Not a good idea. Generate another serial and check here if it is NOT registered -> https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

In your config.plist you have patches for Intel HD 3000 graphics and you are using an ig-platform-id form an HD 4000 graphics.

No way to help you if you don't give more information. Attach EFI folder, ioreg, open terminal and write:

cd ~/Desktop
kextstat | grep -v com.apple
system_profiler -xml > sysprof.spx

attach generated outputs.

Attached are the files and the terminal code. I changed the serial number, didn't know about that.

Are you suggesting to insert the ig-platform-id for HD4000 in the config.plist?

cd ~/Desktop
system_profiler -xml > sysprof.spx

Generates a file on your desktop. Attach it.

I don't see AppleALC.ket in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other ...

No, i'm stating that you actually have an ig-platform-id for HD 4000. Open config.plist with Clover Configurator, go to Graphics and insert an appropriate ig-platform-id ( i7 8750H is a Coffee Lake CPU, non an Ivy Bridge CPU).

Apply also EC0 -> EC rename in config.plist (ACPI section).

Try supported layout-ids for you codec -> https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/wiki/Supported-codecs

To get full QE/CI with UHD 630 in High Sierra you need to inject a fake id from Kaby Lake HD 630 or install this update that adds support for Coffee Lake (MacBookPro15,x)-> https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1974?locale=en_US

Installing that update is non trivial, but there are guides that explain how to do it.

Tried all codes already, none worked. Going to try tonight again with an older version of the appleALC.kext, as I heard this sometimes works.

I lost you with the QE/CI part. Is this a solution for the 7mb vram? Is there any guide that you can recommand, cause I dont know where to start at all :S.

Yep, it is. To get full graphics acceleration, you need to load AppleIntelCFLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext

"Standard" 10.13.6 doesn't have that kext, so you have three options:

1) Load AppleIntelKBLgraphicsFramebuffer.kext (Kaby Lake graphics).

In config.plist -> Devices -> IntelGFX add 0x59128086 and in Graphics use an ig-platform-id from Kaby Lake mobile.

2) Install a supplemental update that has AppleIntelCFLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext

Google is your best friend. Search "uhd 630 10.13.6"

3) Install 10.14 Mojave, as it supports UHD 630 natively.

2 and 3 are better solutions. 3 is probably the easiest.

I went for Mojave and it works great. I confirm this being a solution to make the UHD630 running natively. Thanks for your help!

Native Video works after Mojave and change of SSD to Samsung 970 EVO. I would love to fix the audio, trackpad, keyboard and HDMI out.

Audio: Placed appleALC.kext in EFI/CLOVER/Kext/Other, but without luck.

Trackpad: Could someone point me to the proper kext for my trackpad?

Keyboard: Works for 5 min, then goes off.

Video: Would it be possible to instal a NVIDA GTX 1050 driver to make the hdmi work?

-- -- -- -- -- -- --

Audio: Realtek ALC 255 & 256 co lay

Trackpad: I2c/Ps2 Dual

Keyboard: I2c/Ps2 Dual

Video: Intel UHD 630+NVDIA GTX 1050

Trackpad -> VoodooI2C (needs DSDT patch)

Audio -> you also need Lilu.kext then try supported layout-ids.

GPU -> Nvidia drivers for Maxwell and Pascal haven’t been released yet. Keep in mind that if you enable the dgpu, battery life will drop.

Audio -> Tried with Lilu.kext in L/E now but without luck. I also read Mojave dropped most layout ids. Only layout 17 should be supported. 'Internal Speakers' in 'System Preferences - Sound' don't show up though.

Trackpad -> I downloaded voodooI2C.zip with the ELAN, FTP and CHID,kext. but I don't how to patch it. Any chance you can point me in the right direction?
