Curious thing is Apple is surely doing something fishy :P

As per your pics i can see the beta indication... However if you go and get all the packages from Catalog

you will discover... a mess

091-62771 seems to be latest build but different files (same packaging attributes) are shown

what i get is both beta and non beta WTF!!! LOL

258929409_ScreenShot.png.71e369b26f96e4a12fb55e97aa45d502.png

anyway dunno if a complete installer is already available and so as happened before here are all files needed to make a full install

 macOS Mojave 10.14 18A389  091-62771

1. Download 6 packages below with your fav. Internet Downloader app:

2. Open "InstallAssistantAuto.pkg" using Pacifist.app then extract "Install macOS Mojave.app" (@18MB on my case)

3. Do the same as point "3", but now with "InstallESDDmg.pkg" (this took a little bit longer while extracting "InstallESD.dmg" @5.2GB)

4. Right click "Install macOS Mojave.app" within Finder, choose Show Package Contents

5. Go to Contents - SharedSupport. Place 5 packages on this folder:

  • AppleDiagnostics.chunklist
  • AppleDiagnostics.dmg
  • BaseSystem.chunklist
  • BaseSystem.dmg
  • InstallESD.dmg
  • (InstallInfo.plist is already here, so you have 6 files)

7. Place the "Install macOS Mojave.app" to /Applications; use createinstallmedia if you're going to install it on a mac using  USB FlashDisk. Or, also install Clover to be used for a hackintosh PC

PS

this package is slightly bigger than the other one's so i guess now a 8gb drive will not suffice

Same thing here. I use the same script form @crazybirdy Only one modification: I use French.dist instead of English.dist

Maybe they are going to make a new seed (GM) before the final release..

Maybe... or did you already forget Mojave first beta with HS icon??

Version 18A389 installed perfectly and, for the first time, I am able to use AppleALC and have AppleHDA working, including HDMI audio.  VirtualSMC is working great and I never would have thought there would be an improvement on FakeSMC.  The Mojave Beta experience has been very positive for me and my laptop's performance has been very good, operating temperatures are lower and the only thing that still needs improvement is the temperature of my NVMe drive, which still feels hot when my laptop is sitting on my lap.  I'm looking forward to the release of Mojave so that 3rd-party app developers will update their apps to be fully compatible with Mojave. :thumbsup_anim:

Could be a keyboard/input driver issue. Are you using FileVault? What changed in this regard since the last update?

I personally don't have any issue. So I don't think this is a general bug with this update.

This update works fine for me for few days, but I have few random restarts, note sure what cause them. After last auto restart this thing happened. I never used FileVault, not sure if it's active by default.

Hmm....are you using any kexts for fixing video issues? Such as WhateverGreen, NvidiaGraphicsFixup or IntelGraphicsFixup? For as far as I know, if you have such issues, you should only stick to WEG. The other ones are already included into it, if my information is correct. So it's probably not a good idea to combine them. Of course, you should make sure you're on the latest version of that. :)

It would help to know what hardware do you have. I'd recommend adding this information to your signature for easy access.

FV is not active by default. :) You need to activate it yourself from System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> FileVault. But in this case, it's not gonna make any difference.

Also, if you have a spare keyboard (connected via USB), it would be interesting to see if it works with that one.

For video issues, I only use few kexts from High Sierra from here:

http://dosdude1.com/mojave/

I use wireless keyboard, but as you can see in the gif I posted above, first time I type the password the keyboard actually work ok, then after press enter or login button with the mouse, nothing happened, If I try to type password again I hear some sort ot error sound when pressing buttons of the keyboard.

Boot from recovery partition, open terminal, type resetpassword and hit enter.

It will ask you to set a new password. After you finish, reboot.

I tried, but it's the same... even with the new password, after I try to login it's not show the loading spinner and nothing happened.

You might not like this...and I can't really advise you considering you've got some patches from that site which I never tried before...I don't know how good they are...so I don't really know if it's from that or not, BUT what you could try...is an OS reinstall.

You could try to reinstall on top of the current installation, so that you don't lose any data. If that doesn't work, I would suggest backing up all the personal stuff you need and do a clean install.

I know, it's like the ultimate solution. But I'm running out of ideas here.

Also, I would highly recommend to use the default, unchanged/unpatched installer from the App Store. And, if possible, try to use video fixes from known sources (preferably official sources) so you can always be up to date.

Also, if you have a spare HDD/SSD laying around, I would strongly recommend using it as Time Machine backup drive. Having one of these backups saved my butt many, many times. It does take a while to restore it, especially if the backup is on a mechanical drive, but it's totally worth it.

You can try to add another admin account. Haven't tried it on Mojave but it worked on HS.

Let's call it "Test"

In Terminal type:

  1. sudo dscl . create /Users/test uid 700
  2. sudo dscl . create /Users/test gid 700
  3. sudo dscl . create /Users/test shell /bin/bash
  4. sudo dscl . create /Users/test home /Users/test
  5. sudo dscl . create /Users/test realname "Test User"
  6. sudo dscl . create /Users/test passwd \*
  7. sudo passwd test (after you hit Enter it will ask you to set a password)
  8. sudo cp -R "/System/Library/User Template/English.lproj" /Users/test
  9. sudo chown test /Users/test
  10. sudo dscl . merge /Groups/admin users test

Reboot and try to login to new admin account

If you can boot from another macOS or you can boot into macOS recovery partition do so and delete the following file from the following path:

rm /volume/var/db/.AppleSetupDone (volume needs to be the name of the driver that you have macOS installed.

reboot back in macOS and you will be asked to create a new user just like the first time you installed the macOS.

Once you created a new admin account and successfully logged in you can easily reset the password of your main user account and log back in.
