[pre-release] macOS Mojave

I need your help with Mojave 10.14 beta2 installation to my PC-1 in my Signature.
Booting with Clover 4577 as far as ok switches also graphical user interface then comes language

selection and then the error "Installation resources expired" bla bla bla and just I should restart.
I already googled but didn't find much to do with it.
I find the hints to reload installer from Appstore nonsense.
Note Set time in bios to GMT I have made, but the same error afterwards.
Do you have an idea? nvram.plist not exist and emuvariable not installed with clover.

how can I execute this command with the SSD for Mojave installation? i did use the method

thru the terminal sudo ntpdate -u "time.apple.com" and it worked

Thanks for tips

Hi guys,

For anyone having issues with Quick Look and Preview for larger jpegs using the dedicated GPU, here's a trick that might work for you:

1. Set bios to use PEG (dedicated GPU).

2. Reboot (I think you don't necessarily need to boot into the OS...but you do need to reboot at least until Clover UI)

3. Reboot back into BIOS and set it from PEG to IGD (integrated graphics) WITHOUT removing the cable.

4. Reboot again.

The result should be that the OS is tricked into thinking you're booting with the IGPU when in fact you're using the dedicated GPU. :)))

You will also need to patch the iGPU from Clover config.

1. Graphics -> Inject Intel (UNCHECK Inject Nvidia or ATI if it's checked).

2. ig-platform-id (in my case for Intel HD 4600 Desktop) it was: 0x0d220003

And use IntelGraphicsFixup.kext in Clover/kexts/Other. In my particular case, without the kext, I would get freezes in Safari.

Worked with both HDMI and DVI, in my case.

Just to make sure have you tried re downloading it from the AppStore?

Maybe the installer got corrupted in the process of downloading it?

I suppose it's for the web installer Mojave seems to be using when you're already on Mojave....and it probably should download the rest of the installer files when creating the boot drive so you can have everything in one place.

At least that's what I'm thinking it should do.

Trying it now.

I now have the MBR patch (the new one for Beta2) Progress made.

When running 14MBRinstallerMaker no kernel was installed in the S/L/Kernels/Kernels (15,8MB) I copied it manually or purely from: InstallESD.dmg/Packages/Core.pkg/System/Library/Kernels/kernel.

Then I ran the tool Disk2UUIDmodify again because something was wrong with UUID 222-222-22xxxx. The tool has then entered the correct UUID in the.IA file and in the minstallconfig.xml.

Then SSD as the only SSD connected booted, ran smoothly then, then and immediately came the 2nd stage of installation on Disk2InstallData partition WITH NO errors with install resource time expired etc.

Then a new start and the usual setup and the desktop was already set up.

Sound doesn't work yet, think that the AppleALC 2.8.1 still has to be in S/L/E. At the moment it is only in Clover/kext/other and inject is active and port is like before in High Sierra 1, but this can be done later. Anyway full success with Mojave 10.14 Beta2

Many thanks to the developers here and special thanks to my Romanian friend @arsradu.

Hi man,

You know, I didn't forget about you. I just thought you don't need the config anymore since you fixed the issue. :)

Anyway, here's the Skylake config.

And here are the updated files for AppleALC and Lilu kexts in order to have sound in Mojave.

Not sure about the boot speed. Sounds a little bit too much though. If this is after the installation, it's definitely too much.

Do you need USBInjectAll kext? Cause I don't. Do you need that weird boot arg "uia_exclude=HS03;HS04;HS07;HS08;HS11;HS12;HS13;SS03;SS04;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10;"? Cause I most definitely don't.

Try a fresh config. You can try the one I posted above for comparison. You could also try installing the other drivers that Clover adds by default during installation, and see if that makes any difference. Also, try to add Apfs.efi instead of ApfsDriverLoader. Yes, I know it's supposed to replace apfs.efi and give you more flexibility. But let's see if it actually makes a difference in this case.

Make sure you use apfs.efi from Mojave Beta. Just in case older versions might not work as well with mechanical HDDs.

Sorry, last two days I was at the hospital I didn't respond to your comment. After adding latest AppleALC and Lilu kexts still no sound for me. I must the digging thread 'cause I remember this sound issue discussed inside of this thread.

Another question for you why don't you need USBInjectAll kext? I checked your config your are not using any patched for USB also. You are also using too many fixes, how should I know which fixes for me?

Slowness still persists. This is probably is due to the mechanical HDD.

Another problem I have big boot glitch when startup;

After all, thank you very much for your help. :thumbsup_anim:

Hi man,

I hope you're feeling better now.

If you added those specific AppleALC and Lilu kexts, and injected a layout ID, you should have sound. You can reupload your Clover folder for another look.

On the Skylake build I don't use the iGPU (which is probably causing the issue in your case). But if you're using the iGPU, you can probably try to Inject Intel in config -> Graphics (maybe add the ig-platform-id for your case) and add IntelGraphicsFixup kext in Clover/kexts/Other. Might help.

I don't use USBInjectAll simply because I don't need it. :) USB works fine. And...I think we might already have support from Apple for USB 3 (which was the main point of using USBInjectAll for me). But it's not needed anymore. Also, the USBInjectAll kext causes really, really slow input for my wireless mouse & keyboard at home. I would suggest trying without it and see if it works.

As for slow boot...I would suggest switching to an SSD, if you can. They're becoming more and more affordable. And even a smaller one, is still miles better than a mechanical drive. How old is that HDD? Maybe that affects the performance, as well. I had Mojave installed on a mechanical drive. And it was definitely slower. But not THAT much slower. I mean, it would probably take 40 seconds to a maximum 1 minute to boot. But 5 minutes is waaay too much. And I'm thinking it might be hardware related, as well.

As for the fixes, they were checked by default and I didn't bother to uncheck them. :))) But I'm pretty sure most of them, if not all, are actually not necessary. At home I'm not using any of those. But I'll take a look.

By default, you can just start with the config I gave you, exactly the way it is right now. I don't think it will improve the speed in any way, but I don't think it will cause any issues, either. For iGPU though, you will need to set Inject Intel.

Yep. I think in this case the problem is not the download itself, but a problem with the posts, since that's a link to a post inside the thread rather than to a specific file.

Hope they fix it though (if it can be fixed)... I don't know what changed recently with the posts, but I keep getting more and more of these Page Not Found errors throughout the forum.

Anyway, back to the topic. So..what does that magic parameter do in the end? Believe it or not, I'm still unable to run that command on my side. :)) I mean, I can run it, I'll just get back the same response as before. I already tried removing the "install Mojave beta" app from /Applications and re-downloading it from the App Store. And...the app itself seems to be opening properly. But it doesn't seem to be the complete one...for some reason.

Also, if I try to add it to Install Disk Creator app, it says there is no InstallESD.dmg in Contents/SharedSupport. And you know what? It's right! Not only that there is no InstallESD, there is no SharedSupport folder in the first place. :))

I wonder how big is the file it downloaded from the App Store in your case. Cause in my case, it's the same 12.7MB web installer.

By the way, is this 20.8 MB or 12.7 MB? Cause I'm confused.

According to Apple the installer should be at least 4.90 GB in size (or something like that), but the for whatever reason it's only 12.7 MB or 20.9 MB but the installer that I already have in my Applications folder and the once I used the command to create the USB Disk which downloaded the files in the previous post are quite identical in the size which is 5.68 GB.

As I see,

If you download it on 10.14, you get 12.7 MB.

If you download it on 10.12, 10.13, you get 5.68 GB.

I can add 10.11.6 to the list as well, I tried downing it from El Capitan and I also got the 20.8 MB installer as well. There's no logical pattern to this issue as far as I can tell. Previously I downloaded the full installer successfully on 10.13.5.

I have another speculation which is that the AppStore must be signed in with a valid Apple ID and the Mac and the Apple ID should already be enrolled into the developers beta program for the installer to be downloaded successfully.

Yeah, well I get the full installer from the App Store in High Sierra anyway... So...that parameter might be useful only if you wanna do it in one take. :D But...I thought it would help when you're trying to do it directly from Mojave. Since that's the main problem here. And...apparently that doesn't work. With or without that --downloadassets parameter.

Nope the --downloadasset only works on the full installer. I also tried it with the 20.8 MB and got the same result as you do.

Oh, I see... I thought I was the only one with a problem. :))) Which...is usually the case in most situations in my day to day life. But, now it makes a lot more sense.

So, basically, we still don't have a way to create an offline installer from Mojave. At least not an easy way.

No man! you're not alone! :)

I remember having the same issue with the High Sierra beta/DP versions as well where the installer was smaller than it supposed to and now the same thing is happening with the Mojave as well.

However, my Mojave version is 10.14 Beta (18A314h) and I guess the update is only for public beta version? I mean 10.14.0 18A314k is the new public beta? Right?
