Looks like they are updating their site:

as Herve mentions we are upgrading the site just need to finish up some server back end {censored}... we should hopefully be up by tomorrow if we don"t have any crazy incompatibilities come up. but we have been testing on another server for a bit so hopefully it goes smooth

thanks for noticing allen (thumbs up).

Quite funny! I discovered OSXLatitude yesterday, as I've got back an E6320 the day before and what a shock today... :w00t: I thought: what a coincidence, the site dies just when I need it! ^_^

hahahahah... no nothing nefarious going on. just updating we also where on old ip-board as IM was. so the new site flow will be very similar. since it is what ip-board looks like now in the new versions.

migration is almost completed. We are currently waiting for all the content to be rebuild (an automatic process); to match the new URLs with SSL turned on too. At the current pace thats probably going to take another 6 hours. Then we do some final testing to make sure everything works as intended (including having old links resolve properly), and reopen the site again. In short: everything is going according to plan thus far and we are on schedule.

hopefully all goes well. there will still need to be a few tweaks done but that will happen as time progresses and we get feedback from our users.

Do I have to explain you why @Allan? :P

*edit* oh, hello world! I'm one of the other admins of OSXL.

Reason for the current maintenance (again) has to do with this: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/9625-ips-utf-8-database-converter/

As what we found out after going live -- and so does another popular hackintosh community at the moment ;) -- that the default conversion scripts for migration of IPB 3.x to IPS 4.x do not compensate for certain 'legacy' character encodings, resulting in posts getting truncated or strange characters when opening HTML page source (which results in malformed content). Usually the large FAQ or walkthrough content. :( That on itself we initially solved by copy/pasting HTML content (and redo IPB3 to IPS4 shortcodes 'conversion' making edits in WYSIWYG editor manually). But  .. turned out we had other problems that had interesting implications on a much deeper level. And if it would only impact the forum? But we have a couple of huge plans for the rest of the year where we need to rely on a rock-solid community software foundation, and not be bothered by recurring 'strange' issues and quick patches as we deployed them in the first week after going live. Long story short: after two weeks of running all kinds of DB queries WTF was going on; Invision support was kind enough to provide us with a modified custom tailored utf8converter script matching our complex forum content, to rerun migration in dev environment of IPB 3.x, go over everything again on a DB level to make absolutely sure things will work now in IPS 4.x (as it did in the past 7 years in the 'old' forum). And currently we are 'merging' content with the live site. Hence why the site had to be put in maintenance mode so no posts/users end up missing. Hope this explains a few things. As we like to focus on rolling out the new things too.

Few more minutes to go before going live again with https://OSXLatitude.com

So you can lock this topic again @Allan ;) Hopefully for a bit longer than a couple of weeks this time hehe.
