bluetoy
I had two working OSx versions in two separate partitions of the same HD. 10.4.4 and 10.4.7 of my P4 OSX86 system . I could access both via the darwin boot loader (10 sec countdown). I decided to delete the 10.4.4 because I wanted to install the newer 10.4.8 directly from the DVD avoiding updates ( and also I wanted to leave safe the working fine 10.4.7). Now when I boot the system I get immediately a black screen with blinking cursor and no more the bootloader . Is there a way to access the 10.4.7 partition, or I have lost it forever? I know I did a stupid thing but if someone can help me.... Thanks BT
Rammjet
Boot the 10.4.7 install DVD and erase the 10.4.8 partition in Disk Utility and quit. This should fix everything. Then boot the 10.4.8 install DVD and install 10.4.8. However, the bad Disk Utility is on the older 10.4.8 install DVD that was also corrupt. Be sure that you are using the 10.4.8 SSE3 Only Install DVD Reseed posted on Nov. 3, 2006 which also has a fixed Disk Utility.
