nyislander
I’m trying to install Snow Leopard on a HP T5740 Thin Client: Intel Atom Processor N280 1.66 GHz Intel GL40 graphics (64 MB) 32Gb IDE DOM 4Gb RAM http://parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t5740/index.shtml Booting with Knoppix using the lspci command: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) 00:1a.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #6 (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) 00:1c.4 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 5 (rev 03) 00:1c.5 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 6 (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev 93) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation ICH9M LPC Interface Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation ICH9M/M-E 2 port SATA IDE Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.5 IDE interface: Intel Corporation ICH9M/M-E 2 port SATA IDE Controller (rev 03) 04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM57780 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 01) I used Nawcom’s OSX86_ModCD-032311-151021 with an official 10.6.3 Snow Leopard disc. Installation was successful and I updated to 10.6.7 with MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.7. The network card works after installing BCM5722D_v2.3.5_SL_UB. I did a usb roll back using M-B. My main problem is I lose mouse & keyboard (all usb) control after ~10mins of inactivity. I need to reboot to reactive the ports. Whatever boot options I use: -x; cpus=1 yields the same result. Not essential but nice to have would be: - a screen resolution of 1920x1080 - working sound card - working sata ports Please advise?

nyislander
Thanks for your suggestion artur_pt. I extracted IOUSBFamily.kext & IOUSBMassStorage.kext from the Snow Leopard disc using Pacifist and installed with Kext Wizard to /S/L/E but it did not work. USB connectivity lost after ~10mins of inactivity.

nyislander
Thanks for your advice MaLdOn. This is a headless thin client that I'm connecting to via Remmina, so my temporary solution is to turn off computer & display sleep in Energy Saver. Eventually I plan to edit my DSDT to get everything to work properly.

MaLd0n
o yes xD extract DSDT and ioreg DSDT , run it in terminal perl -e 'open(CMD, "ioreg -lw0 \| grep DSDT|") or die; while(<CMD>) { chomp; if($_ =~ /\"DSDT\.?\d?\"=<([^>]*)>/) { $buff = $1; open(PIP, "|xxd -r -p > ~/Desktop/dsdt.aml") or die; print PIP "$1"; } }' ioreg IORegistryExplorer.app.zip
nyislander
I used the Developer/Utilities/IORegistryExplorer to obtain the ioreg and your perl script for the DSDT. Let me know if this is what you wanted. MyDSDT_files.zip

nyislander
I put the DSDT.aml in the /Extra folder and rebooted. This is what happened. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

nyislander
I used Nawcom’s cd to boot up and removed the DSDT from the /Extra folder. I need more time to learn how to edit the DSDT myself. I'll keep reading & tinkering and report back if/when I'm successful. Thanks again.
