Hi spakk.

I just ordered that dongle as I read that it works well. Its necessary to inject some kext or special configuration? Or it just work when inserted?

Peke let me know if it worked well.

Peke let me know if it worked well.

This already has been tested successfully by some users in the German hackintosh forum.

or here another one that Sascha_77 recommends:

Well, that’s not 100% correct. It does work oob, but for keyboard and mouse there’s some limitations.

Firstly, the dongle doesn’t work during clover boot.

Secondly, it will lose links after sleep. You need to use firmware kext. Look at the wiki here to see which.

Apart from this, I’m happy with this dongle.

Tks

Well guys. I got the Dongle and it was recognized directly. Paired my iPhone and sent pictures by Airdrop.

But it show the devices but connect and disconnects. Dunno if something more is necessary to do.

Update:

Well after reading I just downloaded the latest BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext into /efi/clover/kexts/other

From what im testing with my iPhone is that if the connection is made from phone to pc the bluetooth stays connected. If made the opposite connection with the phone disconnects after some seconds....?¿ Is this a normal behavior?

But Airdrop tested with photos works fine both ways. Even if both are "disconnected" under the bluetooth menu. Its like they know each other and connects anyways just to send the files.  :help:

Wasn’t that one of the latest changes of iOS that the Bluetooth connection always remains alive for „Apple devices like Watch?

I also realized that on an iPad, you’d see the battery status of your iPhone, even if it was not actively coupled.

As far as proper linking is concerned, I had similar experiences.

For Apple mouse and keyboard, sometimes it would couple, but not show their battery status. In this case they also lost their link occasionally.

In this case i had to completely remove the link, remove batteries, etc.

Also, after booting Windows, keyboard and mouse would not reconnect. Pulling the dongle for a few seconds helps then.

You downloaded the last? What “last”?

Because the problem with my dongle is exactly lost connection, it does not retain the connection!

The "latest" brcmpatch kexts by ReHabMan " https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-brcmpatchram/downloads/" to do the complete installation as told.

I always lost connection if pairing from pc to iPhone. But not backwards.

But anyways even if i try to pair first from the pc and the bluetooth shows disconnected i can use airdrop both ways without problems.

Did you check if Airdrop works when the bluetooth manager shows disconnected?

Sailor,

Don´t own an appale watch to test:P Just a plain Garmin 235.

What you told from the keyboard & Mouse i heard that behavior and that people do exactly what you told to reconnect them. Did you put ReHabman kexts to test this?

A question for you. Is continuity working complete in your setup? I mean the ones regarding bluetooth (handoff & universal clipboard). Yesterday i was testing emails from my iPhone and my dock showed them but whas impossible to work on them. Just a loading screen and then dissapearing.

Handoff is not working. Installed Kext´s but to no avail.

My wifi has a Broadcom BCM4360 and the dongle BCM 20702A3 with firmware v14 c5860.

If someone has a solution for this would be appreciated.

Still Handoff not working.

Firmware update kexts BrcmPAtchRam2.kext and BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext not updating the firmware when booting. Putting these on "Other" or in S/L/E has no effect. Firmware on first power up would remain in version 4096.

The only walk around I found for the dongle to autoupdate was to boot first windows 10 and later a restart and boot MAcOS. (This solution works and update the firmware to v14 c5860) Sadly this has to be done every time I do a complete power off else it would stick to 4096.

Has anyone paired effectively this Broadcom chipset 20702A3 with wifi Broadcom 4360?

Well, actually I do own an apple Watch, but haven't really put any energy in testing this out, either.

As far as the kext is concerned, I do believe I have to dig deeper into this. I just realized that the firmware is shown as "v14 c4096". From what I understand, it means that the updated firmware has not been successfully loaded?

I will go through the complete how-to again and see where I took the wrong turn.

Also continuity is not working, although I have to admit I haven't even given it a simply try. It was not important to me, I usually finish what I started, before leaving my machine.

Exactly. If "4096" appears then means the update is not loaded. Anyways with that version Airdrops works fine but is more to me to understand why the kexts are not working as it should. My version always update as I boot Windows 10 first every day before High Sierra.

As handoff concerning is not something ir really use but it would be nice to have it working anyways. Just to say I did it  :D

Got it right now, I found my mistake.

I used Repo in Clover instead of Data. Replaced it and it works.

I´l try using Data too. Used Repo before and saw no change so just wiped ram and repo.

After I test with a complete power off without loading windows before I`ll post the results.

Update:

Sailor

you were right. Worked using Data instead of Repo. Strangely the indications told the contrary... But now working as it should.

Regarding Handoff lets see if someone dig more over this in the future.

* For those with the same bluetooth dongle chipset and with High Sierra just put "BrcmPatchRAM2.kext" & "BrcmFirmwareData.kext" in clover "others".

I found that the Bluetooth adapter I had bought years ago worked immediately in macOS.  I use it 24/7 for my Magic Trackpad 2, and it also works with my Bose bluetooth headphones.

It is the CSR 8510, and it's just about the cheapest dongle you can get.  I paid £3 on eBay (delivered) for mine.

It usually shows up on eBay as "USB Bluetooth V4.0 CSR".

Range isn't super-great - I found when I had it plugged into the back of my PC, under my desk, that it sometimes lost connection to my Magic Trackpad 2.  So now it's plugged into a front/top USB 2.0 port.  It's very tiny:

Hi, is Qualcomm Atheros AR956x compatible with MacOS Mojave 10.14.3?
    • By Bushi93
Finally Manage to make on of the most powerful and compact Hackintosh available with > the i9-9940X 14 cores + the AsRock X299e motherboard and Vega RX 64 8GB.
Used for Editing, Motion Design and VFX on Mojave 10.14.3
Exports time >Four time faster compared to my last i7 6 cores hackintosh.

Need to add a lot of parameters to get the config.plst to work but once it's right it Works very smoothly!
Turbo Boost up to 4.2 Ghz all core

      Geekbench scores
Multi core : 54000 (above the iMacPro 18 cores)
      Single core : 5200
      GPU : 186 800

Ethernet & Audio work without kext

GPU : The Gygabite VEGA RX 64 required a lowfanspeed.kext otherwise it will always have the fans running in full speed mode (and it can get really noisy).

Bluetooth & wifi (you can get a blue tooth dongle - the Azus works but you may experience some issue or lag sometime so the best solution is to replace the Bluetooth/Wifi card with the Bcm94360cs2 AC + its adaptor:
      https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07HFQKC2Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B073XHY68N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
With this card you won't need any kext to make it work : you will get native bluetooth and wifi support and even be able to control your bios and clover with your bluetooth magic mouse / keyboard !

USB3 PORTS : need to add some kext
1 of the 2 USB 3.1 WORK in full speed > USB C  in 3.1 and for some mysterious reson the other USB type A in 3.1 work as USB 2 only
The other 4 USB3 work fine and the 2 USB3 of my front IO (NCASE M1) work fine too

      XRP RAM OVERCLOCK : YES
CPU Overcloking to 4.5GHz may work but did experience some freeze/crash and didn't notice any increase in render time when activated.

Here is a quick overview of my setup

      Hello,

I've updated via system preference fro 10.14.2 to 10.14.3 successfully. However, I've lost location services for Siri and Maps.

      Anyone else?

I've tried a little trial and error troubleshooting but no luck...
SysPref->Privacy->Location Services is enabled with all settings checked. I've tried to disable and enable, but not luck.

I tested booting from previous backup of 10.14.2 install/uefi (pre update) and Location Services worked.

Prior to OSX update I also updated to latest clover, WEG, Lilu, AirportBrcmFixup, AppleALC.

So I tested by downgrading all of the above one at a time to the previous state, and still no Location services on 10.14.3

I've used kext utility to repair any broken kexts.

I've also tried forcequiting from activity monitor:
      com.apple.geod

      And I've Try Deleting:
      Library/Preferences/com.apple.GEO.plist
      Library/Containers/com.apple.geod

I've booted into a guest user and this did not allow location services either.

      My build is using a native Broadcom BCM94352Z Dell DW1560 and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext + BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext

      Any thoughts?

Hi,  I replaced the H170N-WIFI onboard bt card with the ASUS USB BT400 dongle. It works but Handoff and AirDrop won’t work. I install all kexts for fixing Broadcom card, but in System Information, in Bluetooth section I see “Handoff: no”. Anyone can help me? Sorry for my English!

      my build
      mobo: H170N-WiFi
      cpu: i5-6500
gpu: gtx 1060 6gb (not work on Mojave)
      Ram: 16Gb ddr4 2133 MHz

Breaks out my shield and gets ready for the flac

I deleted a line out of the root which was associated with my Bluetooth device
sadly like all things I now realize I shouldn't have done that tried to find the deleted line and well, was not able to.
I now have no Bluetooth devices even when I plug in different usb Bluetooth dongles.
so my question to those with more  wisdom is :- is it possible to extract the missing line from the Mojave installer and re install it
or is it a re install only?
I am not too concerned if it is a re install, we all learn and even an old git like me still learns. I did try x code Bluetooth to re install that way
but for some reason it did not work.
remember go easy you will be an old git one day
thanks and waits for the stick
