ovof
Well, Semthex and other guys make very great work ! I still have an issue and i need your help With the old kernel 10.4.4 or mifki 10.4.8 kernel, i had perfect power management (Mobo P5LD2-VM SE + P4 D630 + GMA950) sleep, wake, no issue at all (i had just to disable legacy usb in the bios and force to S3 resume mode). With Semthex kernel i cant wake properly, the GUI freezes (after few seconds, the cursor become the shiny waiting disk ). I tried one of the first semthex kernel, and although the last ones (got link on IRC). Nothing better, even with -fpm flag. One time, the GUI unfreezes after one or two minutes. I would like to use semthex kernel as it's the most developed kernel, and with mifki kernel i have some sound and video glitches, even with setting the correct FSB. Can you tell me if anyone else has this GUI freeze issue at wakeup, and have you found a solution ? Best regard, BTW, JaS, Semthex, Myzar, Mifki... you are my GOD So so so good

ovof
Thanks for the answer I'm looking now for the person who had the same problem and found the solution ! I wonder if it's problem from kernel clocking, or from the hardware/kext. No clue in the log (console). So i don't know where to start from. Am I the only one with this wakeup problem ? Hagar
Please understand that all these kernels are under active development, and due to the speed of this development, support & debugging is mainly happening on IRC. Things are happening very fast, and in some cases I have found that the situation has changed radically overnight, or even in the course of a few hours. To my knowledge, in the time from the first to the last post of this thread, at least 6 new kernels were produced, so adressing issues related to an early post may well be irrelevant to a later one. If indeed there are persistent issues, the way to help development is to narrow down the causes and try to find solutions, so that they can be implemented in future releases. Testing and bugfinding is an essential part of the development process, but it is useful *only* if the issues are isolated and, if indeed due to kernel bugs, routed back to the developers to they can be fixed. semthex
Like ahagar says, if you relaly need to report a bug, read the FAQ first. Most of the issues posted here heave been solved AGES ago or originate from totally other places. Please follow the bug removal guidlines in the FAQ and you will be fine. ovof
Well, that's better with the last semthex kernel : Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.1: Sun Nov 12 16:51:37 AZOT 2006 After wakeup, it freezes for a least one minute, BUT after everything comes correct (still the colored spinning cursor during this freezing issue) U've changed something to get this work better ? With the last DaemonES/Vitaly kernel, no issue at all with the wake-up, no freezing at all at wake up (like the old kernel) I don't know where the difference is in the source tree. I'll the future kernel and report about this issue Great WORK !
