Having semthex kernel 8.8.1, no kernel panic... but no sound on alc882 :(

Keep searching ...

Hey Akta, what board do you have ? that alc882 chip must be different, because 882 should be working.

Taruga, is it possible to add patcher functionality for analog devices codec? Or is it more generic?

here is log for AD1981HD on HP notebooks..

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;hl=ad1981HD# (post #11)

lots of HP users out there, and all new HP notebooks have this codec...

your work is realy appreciated!

A user just tested with other kernel, not the one from Semthex, but from Daemon´s and got no kernel crashes. Seems that it´s kernel related. I´m using Daemon´s kernel too, and I think mifki´s kernel also works fine

Thanks a million for all the amazing effort going into this.. it's so cool seeing apple logos on my various PC's heh.

I have a Toshiba M115-s3094 laptop which has a Realtek AC861 audio chipset. I have applied the AC861 patch via the HDA patcher, but the output isn't so heartening. I have included it below. Anyone having luck with this chipset? Seems to be fairly common in several Toshiba laptops.

Just this and the wireless Intel Pro Wireless 3945 ABG to go!

Thanks to Taruga for his great work so far :D

Hi, Taruga, I try your patcher in a Intel915gux, RealtekHDA, 10ec0880, 0x26688086 with no success, attached are snapshots and the codec dump, also, after patching with no success, I replace the AppleHDA inside MacOS and repaired the permissions, trashed the extensions, rebooted and get sound again, but only output 2 channels an input, no mic. Oh, I'm using the Semthex kernel, no panic.

PSD. The patcher detected my computer as a notebook wrongfully, is a desktop.

I'm using Semthex without crashes... So it has to be something else causing the panics. Unless I'm just weird. :)

But semthex released a lot of different kernels, keep that in mind.

I´m not sure about what´s causing it, but it´s very strange

The kernel which comes with the 10.4.8 JaS Intel+AMD doesn't work for me...

I tried DaemonES kernel and it works perfectly, but no sound at all (symbol is in menubar and I can edit the sound settings)!

hi toruga!!! the same problem!!! no kernel panic, using semtex b9 kernel... sigmatel 9225 vendor 8384 device 7661... no audio detected no device detected...any help!!!

Patcher is not detecting your codec right I´ll will take a look at it

There should appear values .....

I have a sigmatel 9228 ven 8384, dev 7616.

I too received a panic restart using 10.4.8 Jas with the semtex which has the 8.8.1 Darwin Kernal.

I decided to reinstall the 10.4.6 Jas which includes the 8.4.1 Darwin Kernal. I was able to install without a panic but received no sound. I then copied the AppleHDA from this 10.4.6 install to the 10.4.8 hoping that this would work, however this did not work. I repaired disk permissions and reloaded the extensions, and made sure that appleazill (sp?) was not in my extensions folder (which it was not).

Taruga...thanks for everything you are doing...

Taruga i have switched t the offensively pricey Asus p5wDH Deluxe an now i have full suport of my audio connectors Thanks man, using alc882, with your applehda.04b !

is there a way to redirect headphones out to one of the other ouputs? my front panel audio is not working..

Thanks!

Taruga,

Thanks for your work.

I need sound-input, and it looks like you are getting close.

However, I run a Analog Devices SoundMax 1981HD chip. Does it look like support for non-ALC/Sigmatel chips may be possible, or are you relying on some specificity of the .kext to enable these.

I'd like to know because I got the docs to write a simple driver for my chip, but seeing as though you are close, it may not be worth the effort.

:D

Yep, patcher didn´t get all the needed info, the Line In part has only one number (12) there should be two numbers

Best you can do right now to test it, is to edit AppleHDA Info.plist and remove all the lines from Line In, just leave Mic and Speaker to try out

Or look in the line in part for <integer></integer> and replace with <integer>3</integer>
