Taruga
Having semthex kernel 8.8.1, no kernel panic... but no sound on alc882 Keep searching ... Hey Akta, what board do you have ? that alc882 chip must be different, because 882 should be working. El Massman
i've been getting kernel panics too. i think it's caused by something to do with the latest JaS DVD. easiest way around it is to have a separate OS partition using the old DVD and then patch that and copy the patched files across. Taruga
A user just tested with other kernel, not the one from Semthex, but from Daemon´s and got no kernel crashes. Seems that it´s kernel related. I´m using Daemon´s kernel too, and I think mifki´s kernel also works fine Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32859-applehda-solution-work-in-progress/page/27/#findComment-282185 Share on other sites
aenigmatic
Thanks a million for all the amazing effort going into this.. it's so cool seeing apple logos on my various PC's heh. I have a Toshiba M115-s3094 laptop which has a Realtek AC861 audio chipset. I have applied the AC861 patch via the HDA patcher, but the output isn't so heartening. I have included it below. Anyone having luck with this chipset? Seems to be fairly common in several Toshiba laptops. Just this and the wireless Intel Pro Wireless 3945 ABG to go! elviejo
Hi, Taruga, I try your patcher in a Intel915gux, RealtekHDA, 10ec0880, 0x26688086 with no success, attached are snapshots and the codec dump, also, after patching with no success, I replace the AppleHDA inside MacOS and repaired the permissions, trashed the extensions, rebooted and get sound again, but only output 2 channels an input, no mic. Oh, I'm using the Semthex kernel, no panic. PSD. The patcher detected my computer as a notebook wrongfully, is a desktop. alc880.txt Edited January 23, 2007 by elviejo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32859-applehda-solution-work-in-progress/page/27/#findComment-282267 Share on other sites

uberphotos
I have a sigmatel 9228 ven 8384, dev 7616. I too received a panic restart using 10.4.8 Jas with the semtex which has the 8.8.1 Darwin Kernal. I decided to reinstall the 10.4.6 Jas which includes the 8.4.1 Darwin Kernal. I was able to install without a panic but received no sound. I then copied the AppleHDA from this 10.4.6 install to the 10.4.8 hoping that this would work, however this did not work. I repaired disk permissions and reloaded the extensions, and made sure that appleazill (sp?) was not in my extensions folder (which it was not). Taruga...thanks for everything you are doing... Amuraivel
Taruga, Thanks for your work. I need sound-input, and it looks like you are getting close. However, I run a Analog Devices SoundMax 1981HD chip. Does it look like support for non-ALC/Sigmatel chips may be possible, or are you relying on some specificity of the .kext to enable these. I'd like to know because I got the docs to write a simple driver for my chip, but seeing as though you are close, it may not be worth the effort.
