How To Make An Instance of 10.12.5 THE DEFAULT ON Clover Screen?

3 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

After booting when I get to the Clover screen that displays icons for devices on which there are operating systems plus  "EFI" and "Recovery" ICONS.

I want "SIERRA" to be the default and system to to SIERRA without any action by me.

It is not happening. EFI is the default volume/device.

For Example if the Clover Screen shows ICONS for:

EFI -----Sierra------ Windows 10---------- Recovery              Default seems to be EFI.

Even though the BOOT SECTION of config.plist lists default volume is "SIERRA".

The EFI icon is highlighted when the Clover screen is displayed.

I have to click the SIERRA icon if I want to boot to that drive.

NOTE: "UEFI Sierra" is listed as the number one location in my BIOS setup.

Also the "-v" for verbose & the "5" second timeout do not work either.

Is that an indication that I am making Sierra the default volume in the wrong config.plist,

IF I WANT TO CONTROL BEHAVIOR of THE CLOVER SCREEN ?

I'm sure the extracts shown here are from Sierra's config.plist.

Sierra>EFI>Clover>config.plist

Here are 2 extracts from config.plist for SIERRA device

Hi,

In your message, you mention SIERRA (uppercase), and in the config.plist, it is 'Sierra'. Check which is the actual name.

In my case, I use  'LastBootedVolume'.

Regards

Last Booted Volume should work, I'll try it.

I think I always used the same volume name. I capitalized in the email to highlight.

My funny style of writing.

I still would like to know how to specify the volume name to be booted.

Maybe I did spell them differently or maybe wrong copy of config.plist.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Hello everyone. I managed to install AMD Sierra V5(10.12.6) on my old AMD A8 7600 PC(Mother Board-A58M-E, GPU- Palit Geforce GT730 DDR3). Everything is working except the GPU. The GT730 DDR3 GF108 is natively supported on Sierra, but for some reason, it is not working. On Clover Config, "Inject Nvidia" is selected, no Nvidia Web, and nv_disable=1. On "About This Mac" it just says " NVIDIA Chip Model 3 MB".
I have attached config.plist. Can someone look at it please? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Clover r5050 ISO compiled with GCC and minimal config.plist compatible for use in VMWare Workstation.

Tested with unlocked Workstation 15 running OSX 10.9 -->10.15 guest in Windows X64 host.

      Installation
      1. Download and unzip "EFI_Clover_r5050 for VMware.zip". Mount Clover-v2.5k-5050-X64.iso by double clicking on it.
      2. Mount your VM's EFI System Partition eg in terminal
sudo diskutil mount disk0s1   3. Copy EFI folder from step 1 into the EFI partition
      4. Shutdown the VM, add bios.bootDelay = "3000" to your VM's vmx file
      5. Reboot your VM, press <F2> to access the VMware Boot Manager and add CLOVERX64.efi to the boot menu.

Substitute your own unique and valid MLB and ROM variables in the /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist (Rt Variables section) to activate iMessage/Facetime on your VM.
