Question:

My External NVMe patch does suddenly not work anymore with 10.13 DP5.

Name: IONVMeFamily Find: 4885c074 07808b20 Replace: 4885c066 90808b20

Can somebody give me a working one please?

Cheers,

KGP

Hi, the patch changed... Try this one under dp5:

I got it going on SIerra and High Sierra - i9 7900x, as have a few others now. I'll start a thread and post pics of my clover, efi and kexts.

It was way easier than X99 :)

Which kernel to patch entries did you use under 10.12?

Compared to the first beta, it seems DB5 working much better with APFS on old spinning HDDs .  Successful clean install here on my GA-P55aUD3 desktop (5 series MB with legacy BIOS/i5-750/ATI HD5770) with 7200rpm HDD.

USB installer made with "createinstallmedia method", Clover r4128 and latest apfs.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64...

Core.pkg method isn't working anymore in DB5, any other method to install on ICH10? I need to replace AppleAHCIPort.kext to boot.

As a work around, you can install DB5 on an external USB hard disk, replace AppleAHCIPort.kext v329 in /S/L/E with v328 (don't forget to repair permissions and rebuild kernel cache), then clone the working system back to your internal SATA hard disk eg with Carbon Copy Cloner or Disk Utility.

PS Just tried a Core install of DB5 (from my Yosemite volume to a newly formatted HFS+ partition named macOS) and it still works....

Post-Installation Terminal Commands (I had AppleAHCIPort.kext v328 and Developer SeedEnrollment.plist in my ~/Downloads folder)

sudo cp /Volumes/macOS/usr/standalone/i386/boot.efi /Volumes/macOS/System/Library/CoreServices
sudo mv /Volumes/macOS/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAHCIPort.kext /Volumes/macOS/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAHCIPort.329
sudo cp -R ~/Downloads/AppleAHCIPort.kext /Volumes/macOS/System/Library/Extensions
sudo touch /Volumes/macOS/System/Library/Extensions  && sudo kextcache -u /Volumes/macOS
cp ~/Downloads/SeedEnrollment.plist /Volumes/macOS/Users/Shared/.SeedEnrollment.plist

AppleAHCIPort_v328.kext.zip

apfs.efi.zip

Any of the other SATA ports on ICH10 recognised?  Try connecting the hard disk to another SATA port and see if it shows up in disk utility when you boot from the USB installer?

Which SATA chipset do you use? I may have better workaround then...

What Graphics Card are you using for High Sierra with your 5-series motherboard?

I have a P55A-UD4P but am stuck on El Capitan as I am using a 9800GT and have been unable to upgrade to Sierra (and soon High Sierra)

Glad to know that I'm not alone who gotta trackpad (minor) issue on 10.13 DP5.. #NoWorry << 10.11.x Trackpad.pref works though  :P

^ both using @rehabman VoodooPS2 v1.8.27 or @EmlyDinesh ApplePS2Tp v4.7 Beta 5 (ELAN_101).

And I think it' s not a good idea to push the devs with Beta System (for TP fix)... so, it' s just a report.

#ADD: Another issue even on some Real MBPs with Beta 5: Beta 5 fails on MacBook Pro

What issue did you get on why you need to revert v329 to v328?

Oh, that's wonderful :)

Does it have a native support? or you need to use fakeCPUID?

As RehabMan said, "I'm in no hurry (it comes with age)".

It seems 10.13.pb4 has just been released along with new Command Line Tools beta for Xcode 9. According to the previous releases, this should have the same build number as dp5.

Native support on High Sierra.

Also my patches and kexts are a fraction of what they used to be on the X99.

Add to that my oob Vega and I'm looking around for an old Mac Pro case to put it in! haha

Thanks for the update! I didn't know that it has native support in High Sierra :)

X299 should look gorgeous in a MacPro Case ;) I'm looking forward to see your build once it's completed!

This is a simple trick which originally by @RehabMan for his HackrFamily, I'm not sure whether this will work as well, but anyway I think it's worth trying.

Firstly set FakeID for SATA in config.plist to 0xabcd8086. It looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
	<key>Devices</key>
	<dict>
		<key>FakeID</key>
		<dict>
			<key>SATA</key>
			<string>0xabcd8086</string>
		</dict>
	</dict>
</dict>
</plist>

And then put this dummy kext into Clover/kexts/Other or 10.13 folder. Delete the patched one from /S/L/E (Restore to vanilla one, in case you don't have it, will post the original one below)

Dummy kext: (not working, removed)

Original v329 kext from DP5:

orig_AppleAHCIPort_v329.kext.zip

Please test, if you can normally boot then, thanks.

Nope, does not work either....

I am doing o.k. when using it as a KextToPatch entry, right?

old entry below worked including DP4:

So should I edit my previous post about SkyLake X not having the native support in Sierra? or my assumption is correct?

      Hello all,
      I have a working hackintosh....ok.....but it takes a lot to boot and according to the boot.log there are a few problems.
      One of them is a black screen that stays on for a long time.
      I would like to ask anyone in this community some help to fine tune my machine.
      Boot.log and config.plist attached

      Any help would be appreciated.

      also from compatibleIds i got this:
      PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&REV_05

      Is it Supported on any version of macOS ?

      I have been running macOS Mojave on my system for 3 months and everything was working pretty well.  After taking an update for clover, my entire system got wrecked, and I cannot even boot to an installation environment anymore (which I really need to do since I am starting back at square one).  I still have the old EFI folder backed up, but I know it'll only be a matter of time before Apple introduces an update that requires me to update Clover in order to work correctly.  I have tried all the available memory fixes, but none of them seem to work.  I was previously using the original osxaptiofix; so, I gave v2, and v3 a try, but to no success.  I read somewhere on the main discussion board for clover that AptioMemoryFix was no longer going to be supported and I therefor decided to skip over it (not to mention it isn't even available in newer clover installation packages).

      System specs:
      Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z390 M GAMING
      CPU Intel core i5 9600k @ stock 3.7GHz
      RAM 32GB DDR4 2667MHz
      GPU AMD Radeon RX 580 with 8GB of GDDR5
      SSD Intel 660p 512GB NVME
      NIC: Intel i210 10/100/1000 as it is natively supported in macOS

      I have been using the iMac 19,1 SMBIOs as I built this machine to match it as close as humanly possible.  As for my UEFI settings, I did the usual:
      Disabled Windows specific features and secure boot
      Enabled XHCI hand off
      Enabled Above 4G decoding
      Disabled onboard NIC since it is made irrelevant by my intel i210

      --INJECT KEXTS--
      FakeSMC
      Lilu
      WhateverGreen
      AppleALC
      USBInjectAll -- WITH PATCHED SSDT in /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched
      Below are images of the errors I am receiving when trying to boot the macOS Mojave installer.

      with original osxaptiomemoryfix

      osxaptiofixv2

      osxaptiofixv3

      Anyway, if somebody can help me figure out what's going on, that'd be greatly appreciated.  My ultimate goal is to get an install with minimal clover patches as to be better prepared when the winds of change from Apple come roaring.

      p.s: I have also attached a copy of my EFI folder

      Clover r4989 ISO compiled with GCC and minimal config.plist compatible for use in VMWare Workstation.

      Tested with unlocked Workstation 15 running OSX 10.9 -->10.15 guest in Windows X64 host.

      Installation
      1. Download and unzip "EFI_Clover_r4989 for VMware.zip". Mount Clover-v2.4k-4989-X64.iso by double clicking on it.
      2. Mount your VM's EFI System Partition eg in terminal
      sudo diskutil mount disk0s1   3. Copy EFI folder from step 1 into the EFI partition
      4. Shutdown the VM, add bios.bootDelay = "3000" to your VM's vmx file
      5. Reboot your VM, press <F2> to access the VMware Boot Manager and add CLOVERX64.efi to the boot menu.

      Substitute your own unique and valid MLB and ROM variables in the /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist (Rt Variables section) to activate iMessage/Facetime on your VM.
