If you have a backupped working efi or config.plist you can chage no working one in Windows:

1) in admin mode open cmd

2) diskpart

3) list disk to see which is disk with OSX installed

4) sel disk X (x is osx disk)

5) sel part 1

6) assign letter=b

open Windows task manager then in it Browse

show all files

find drive B (efi) and do inside task manager Windows copy and paste delete or what you have to do)

In this way you can change easily an EFI if you have Windows and your OSX does not start properly

I need your Help, guys! :(

I am really desperate here. Yesterday I installed the new Web and Cuda Drivers and today my system doesn't seem to recognize the Graphics Card any more. I haven't changed the config. The system just boots until abot 90 % of the progress bar and then just turns of. I tried disabling wenbrivers and temporarily switch to software rendering which worked before. Iknow the card is working because I am wrting this from windows 10 of the same Machine.

Is there a way to use the command line thing in clover at the startup to restore a previous config file?

I tried mounting the EFI Drives in windows in order to restore a previous config but it's over my head.

How do you guys fix issues like his when it just doesn't boot?

Thank you.

Thanks for your Help, guys!

I hooked up the ssd (a Samsung 840 Evo) to a mac mini to access it but I think it might be dead/faulty. It took minutes until Disk Utility recognized it. And I had a lot of errors when trying to repair the System Partition which failed. But Disk Utility Says the actual Disk would be fine. The System Partition won't show in finder. Since Windows runs from a 2nd SSD it's no wonder while that worked fine.

What really sucks is that I just finished getting everything to work properly. And all my iLok Licencse for my Audio Plugins are on there. I guess I'll try to format the disk once more and start over.

CUDA question?

Hello! Did not know until reading your posts ^ above today, that there were existed such CUDA drivers! There is some good benefit to it then? ... is it for rendering tasks in Premiere / Photoshop / other professional apps? Or does this help something else in os x?

Gaming 3 updated:

Anyhow I have fixed up all my Gaming 3 Clover configs today. Its available upon request (just PM me here). Updated for 12.6 today. I didnt do all this loads of DSDT patching to the max (like you guys for the Gaming 5). So mine has always been broken sleep function, it doesnt matter to me. Everything else seems fine. Many thanks for all help / knowledge coming back here. Just to update the CLOVER again for latest.

BTW whatever happened to Gaming 4 guys? Did we skip one? Hehehe. :thumbsup_anim:

Testing Metal:

And something for future: I find a list of perhaps 'metal' games?

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/list-of-mac-metal-games.2045606/

We can try that list to to see which ones are the best for benchmarking metal (if they can at all). So to proper 'decent' testing for latest nvidia web drivers (will be hoping).

Actually I already posted on other forum thread about metal games list --> http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/312525-nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-macos-sierra-update-07212017/?p=2467028

But maybe it should get its own thread (not to be lost in massive thread). :poke:

If you want to test for Cuda /Metal /OpenCl   capacity try this little benchmark utility:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/708-nbody-metal-bench/

Can you send me your config.plist? Do you have access to your EFI partition in windows?

You can also boot with -x to run is safe mode and also boot with -v and take a snapshot of your progress so I can see what's wrong with your macOS boot process.

For activating the nVidia Web driver you need these settings checked in your config.plist:

Under boot: nvda_drv=1

Under System Parameters: NvidiaWeb

You might also need to install RC Scripts on the target volume

The SSD Partition was somehow corrupted. I had to format it and start all over. Mac OS is running fine again, but now Windows 10 won't boot, even though I installed it on a 2nd physical SDD. Do you have an Idea how to fix that? What a day. First the Mac disk gets corrupted, then windows 10 is missing boot files...

Hi guys, I've founds something interesting. If I don't have the clover DSDT patch '_DSM to XDSM' then AppleLPC doesn't load.

I'm unsure if I maybe have missed a SSDT or patch or something else?

I have uploaded my EFI folder below

Thankyou for the suggestion, I just did that but AppleLPC stays unloaded unless I use the clover DSDT patch '_DSM to XDSM'

Is '_DSM to XDSM' required? or am I missing anything else? :P

I think that's because you don't use a patched DSDT.

Yeah I am reluctant as I prefer the individual SSDTs

Are there any other patches I require due to not having the patches DSDT?

It really depends on the performance of your computer. I was using El Capitan for a long time without a DSDT/SSDTs and the patches I needed were for USB ports and Audio with the FixShutdown_0004

These are the patches I used:

change _OSI to XOSI

Change EHC1 to EH01

Change EHC2 to EH02

Rename HDAS to HDEF

FixShutdown_0004

I never needed anything else

Well I think it's better to stick to the _DSM to XDSM patch which is already working for you.

The ACPI/DSDT patches are in clover to patch the DSDT indirectly if you don't have a patched DSDT they will correct the incorrect values in the DSDT so the macOS can operate as accurate as possible.

Appreciate your help :)

I believe that the ECH to EH0 patches are only required on Z97 and below boards as our Z170 doesn't have an EHCI controller

I have a HDAS to HDEF SSDT and the other patches.

Is there anything else required?

Thats exactly what im trying to achieve :D

Back in the day when I was using El Capitan without having a patched DSDT and SSDT-UIAC.aml my front header USB ports wouldn't work without the ECH1 to EH01 and ECH2 to EH02 patches so I had to use them but not anymore :)

I can't think of any other patches to apply to your system, You can benchmark your pc's performance and see if there's anything out of the place and then we can see what can be done about it.

As long as you have these working:

Full USB support: All the USB ports 2.0,3.0 and 3.1 and USB TypeC (I believe you have Thunderbolt as well)

Sleep/Wake

Shutdown

Audio

HDMI Audio

Network

You can use windows 10's startup repair option to fix it.

Thanks for the Link. Today I found time to fix my boot problem with the guide provided in the link to get Windows 10 working again in my dual disk, dual boot macOS/Windows setup. It seemed that the Bootmanager was missing on Drive 1 (Mac Disk) after I had to format the SSD due to some failure. Since Automatic Repair didn't work for me at first, here's how I fixed it. Maybe it is of help for People encountering similar issues in the future:

0. In macOS, create a USB boot stick for Windows 10 using BootCamp Assistant or insert a bootable Windows DVD into the optical drive. Restart

1. Hit F12 (Boot Menu)

2. Select UEFI <Vendor Name of your USB Stick> and hit Enter to boot Windows Setup from USB Stick (select optical Drive if you use a DVD)

3. Windows Setup Starts

4. After Selecting your language there's a box in the lower left corner with the Option to "Repair your Computer", click on it

5. Select Advanced Options > Command Prompt.

6. In my case the Bootmanager was missing, so I entered BOOTREC /RebuildBcd

7. Hit "Y" if it finds a "C:/Windows" installation

8. Close the Command Prompt and go back to "Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair"

9. Some diagnostics and repairs take place done and then the System Reeboots automatically to clover bootloader (if it is present on your primary bootdisk).

10. In Clover, there are now at least 3 or 4 Drives with the Windows Logo - Click on the one that says "Boot Windows from EFI" That's the one.

11. Done. Windows booting again

I need your help again, guys.

I don't know what it is, but something is messing with my HFS+ drives one by one. First it was the primary SSD, then the DATA Storage HDD then the external HDD. I tested the SSD (Samsung Evo 840) with Disk Magician and it said, the Drive was in good condition. So are the others.

Luckily I have a MacMini here too so I managed to repair the mac Drives (HFS+) with DiskWarrior but I'd like to see this problem go away

Can this be ralted to any or the BIOS settings? Or can it be related to Windows 10 running on the 2nd DIsk?

I have the GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 EU, Intel i7 6700K, 32 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport LT.

macOS booted and then it said my storage HDD was damaged. Disk Utility couldn't fix it.

So I rebooted and then the system sdd didn't boot at all. So I booted into recovery and tried to fix the boot disk with disk utilty. It said something was wrong with the B Tree(?). So I had to take the drive out of the System and connected it to a MacMini to let DiskWarrior fix it. It created a log (32 Pages) which showed that a lot of folders were missing, a lot of names, IDS and permissions were changed.

After reconnecting the drive it booted again. Then I got the same error for the internel Data HDD. Diskwarrior managed to fix that too for now. I didn't change any permissions manually so I don't know what's the cause of it. Since it's the second time this happened I am afraid it might happen again.

Check your hard disk with DriveDX if you can or check them with any utility than can check the HDD's SMART status and see reports to make sure the HDDs are OK.

Thanks for the tip. I checked the Disks with Drive DX. The SSDs have Health is > 97 %. The mechanical HDD's health is around 94 %. But in health indicators it says I have 295 UDMA CRC Errors and SATA Downshift Coount was at 1 % (don't know what that means). The tool advised me to check power and data cables. I then channged the SATA Cable and took a different power connector. The data HDD sits in a Frame for hot swapping. Maybe I should exchange that as well?

But other than that, I think the issues I had are not related to the system drives.

Hot Swap usually doesn't interfere with the CRC errors as much as it has to do with the SATA Cables and the SATA controller on mainboard or on the HDD itself. But since it's not usually supported by the macOS (except for the Xserve) you can turn it off and see what happens. You can also change the SATA port that the HDD is connected to. Also tell me what is the value of the "Power On Time"

Lenovo T460 macOS with Clover Guide
Latest Release on GitHub (March 2020) Updated to Clover r5105 Updated Lilu based kexts - Lilu, ALC, WEG Added AirportBrcmFixup.kext
Various Tweaks over Last months The main branch in my github repo is a complete Clover ESP (/EFI) bundle and kext pack for the Lenovo T460. The current file bundle seems to work on Sierra, HighSierra, Mojave and Catalina. There is an OpenCore branch in the repo as an alternative to Clover. This guide was developed for a Clover implementation. But the thread has evolved to include discussion of both Clover and Opencore for these systems: T460 and T470 family of ThinkPads.

Full Clover file set - config.plist etc. Includes all custom kexts Includes custom DSDT/SSDT scripts and patches Utility scripts The zip bundles are posted to GitHub: https://github.com/tluck/Lenovo-T460-Clover/releases
Caveat: The T460 systems used here was configured with: i5-6300U, Intel HD Graphics 520, 1920x1080 touch screen. If you have a different system model, then extract the ACPI files and use the included scripts to create a set of files consistent with your system type and BIOS version. See below for details.
Credits: RehabMan, Shmilee, vusun123, TimeWalker, Mieze from which, much of their work and help is/was was used to get the T460 to this point.
      Devices and aspects working:
Ethernet -  Intel I219LM is enabled via IntelMausiEthernext.kext WiFi/BT - substitute the Intel WiFi/BT with a compatible Broadcom or Atheros chip Audio - ALC293 codec implemented via AppleALC.kext (the old AppleHDA_ALC293 and CodecCommander kexts are not needed) PS2 - ClickPad + TrackPoint + all 3 buttons - using a modified VoodooPS2Controller to support new layouts - and added some custom Fn key maps based on 440/450 dsdt USB - implemented via custom SSDT + USBInjectAll kext. All USB3/USB2 ports are intel-based and work -  3 external USB and internal Camera, BT, etc  Sleep/Wake - the sleepwatcher package and custom sleep/wake scripts are used to help with sleep/wake for BT and PS2 devices. Note: have not tried to implement the SD card reader - no driver found.

BCM94360HMB Wifi and Bluetooth AirDrop, Handoff, FaceTime, Messages, App Store, iCloud, etc. Intel HD 530 (QE/CI tested, but now I'm using it in headless) Sleep RX 5700 (QE/CI with 2 1080p monitors connected) Sound (all ports) USB Ports Two Ethernet ports macOS with a light OC (4.12 GHz - 4.5 Ghz, XMP, ASUS optimal) No problem so far ASUS HyperKit with a KINGSTON NVMe SSD - 250 GB Hardware decoding/encoding on both HD 530 and RX 5700 iGPU QuickSync is used in the default config.plist To use dGPU for hw decode/encode you need to disable iGPU in BIOS and boot with "config_dgpu_enc_dec.plist" (this will use iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS, so you may need to resign in to use your iCloud) System Integrity Protection is Enabled by default. If you need to boot with SIP disabled you may use "config_debug.plist" or disable it manually in Clover settings. If you want Enabled SIP but with allowing unsigned kexts you may boot with "CsrActiveConfig = 0x01"
      What is not working:
      -

      Not tested:

      Getting ready for installation:
Download the bootpack (Clover v5112): Click here -> ASUS-Z170-Deluxe_Cata.zip
      Installation:
Create an installer with any method you know (- Mac: createinstallmedia, gibMacOS - Windows: Transmac, Vmware, Win32diskimager, gibMacOS) Copy my Clover folder to the USB's EFI folder Boot with the Installer USB If you have any problem (kp or freeze) boot with config_debug.plist to see what causes the issue
      Post Installation:
Download Clover Configurator and generate a new Serial Number for yourself
      Some pictures:

Catalina & Windows 10 Dual-Boot (clean install, on one drive):
Boot into your Mac installer, Create 2 partitions in GUID table (1 for Win (I used FAT32 but I think it doesn't matter what you choose), 1 for Mac)
Install Mac, boot with your USB, mount your EFI partition (use terminal or an EFI mounter app), create an EFI folder (if there is no folder), copy the CLOVER folder I attached to the EFI folder, restart
Boot into your Win installer, Format the partition you created for Win, install.
Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type:
      bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi
You're done! It will booting into Clover when you start the system, and you can select Win or Mac (or another OS if installed on a 3rd partition).

IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING WINDOWS INSTALLATION (could not be formatted, etc):
Make sure you have GPT partitions, and GPT (UEFI) installer, also disconnect all external storage drives (except the installer USB)
      Mounting EFI from Windows:
Open cmd in administrator mode and type: mountvol b: /s (This will mount your EFI) Open Total Commander or Explorer++ in administrator mode to manage EFI mountvol b: /d (This will unmount your EFI)

Installed Catalina 10.15.4 (19E287) Vanilla with OpenCore on my HP Elitedesk 800 G2 Mini.

Everything is working (Wifi isn't but I'm using Ethernet anyway) but my second display.

I'm trying to get them both connected via DisplayPort as the only other output on my computer is VGA.

I've tried manually setting the framebuffer arguments, but I cannot get it to output to both displays. Yet if I unplug one and restart, it will use the other one just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
