Reese268
So I recently got a copy of the JaS install dvd and have been trying to get it installed on my computer. The dvd is working as far as starting the installation, but every time, at seemingly random points, the install will fail and deliver a generic message which states "there were errors during installation, please try again". I don't know what the problem might be.... so I was hoping someone might be able to tell me something I can try, or what the problem is. My system is an AMD X2 3800+, an MSI K8N Diamond Plus mobo, Nvidia Geforce 9600 GS, 1 gig ram, 320 gig SATA hd. All I have is the single hard drive. I have Windows XP installed on the first partition. I used Acronis to create another partition immediately after that partition... I have tried the install with making it a primary partition and a logical partition, and the end result is still the same. When I install the options I select in Customize are SSE3, the 2 AMD options (can't remember the exact wording), wireless card support, and the VIA SATA option. Am I doing anything wrong? What could the problem be? please help!
Rammjet
Burn the DVD at the slowest speed possible. If available, use different brand or type of media (dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw). Check that your DVD drive firmware is up to date.

Reese268
Ok, I will try reburning the disc at 4x when I get home from work today. Question though: It does get through the whole disc check thing at the beginning and says everything is ok, does that not rule out that being a problem? I know it may not, just want to confirm.
