dankajell
by the way i just found out that my processor supports sse3 so i wanted to take advantage of that also the new update has really slowed its boot time down badly this is another factor in my question
Dean Gunraj
yeah just run the sse3 update, I installed both. The issue really is this some programs require sse3, and rosetta is sse3(for the most part) so the sse2 update emulates the rosetta instruction set using sse2 instead of 3, so all the sse3 stuff is kinda making calls to sse2 instructions (sorta), like redirecting OpenGL to Direct3D(kinda). If you run the sse3 update those should get overwritten (i believe). I did both updates sse3 after sse2, and OS X is running pretty fast for me.
