billyx
Hi... I tried using both a 10.4.4 DVD image and a 10.4.6 DVD to install Mac OS on my computer natively. It failed with the following message after trying to create the local fs on the RAMdisk (yes, I have seen other SAM Multimedia posts): SAM multimedia error: READ or WRITE failed. ASC=0x24 ASCQ=0x00 Strangely enough, the same thing happens with both images when mounted as a virtual cd drive in VMware. Surely both images are not corrupted? I typically boot with the options '-x -v PLATFORM=X86PC' but have also tried using just '-x -v'
billyx
I should note that the error occurs with both images at the same point in the installation... while trying to mount the RAMdisks for installation. I'm also running a Dell XPS 400 from Dec 05, so it's a fairly recent box, SSE3 Pentium D, etc.
