I don't understand. What do you mean by "mix id 15 and 22 for update id 16"???

I have used layoutID 22 for GL553VD and working fine.
image.png.d0eb43d7fe2049b9a9f149153533a58c.png

Id 16 , 15 , 22 are made for gl553vd !

But I test all of them !with db machine .

In ID 22 just speakers working well ! 88db .

But microphones don't working! Just record 30db !

In ID 15 , speakers working but 78db !

But microphones work very well ! Microphones record 89db !

-------

Microphones = headphones microphones + laptop microphones

Speakers = headphones + laptop speakers

-----

ID 16 made by MacPeet for gl553vd last year , but all of IDs *15,16,22* can update !

speakers code from 22 mix with microphones code from 15 !

I still don't get, i made LayoutID 22 for GL553VD-FY380 and internal microphone here is working good. There are many model of GL553VD.

If your system working good with LayoutID 16 then use it.

In ID 16 speakers working but 70db and microphones 72db !

You can testing 22 and 15 IDs !

22 good as speakers

And 15 good as microphones

Can you make new ID with mixing 22 and 15 ?

Honestly i didn't understand about "db check". How did you get DB check for each input / output?? What software did you use?

Is x299 Audio Series Present on AppleALC (does the CAVS > HDEF rename happen in I/O registry level automatically or is that rename still required) ?

Hi, I'm using the latest AppleALC with layout id 23 (as suggested in AppleALC github) and it works fine for sound output but I don't have "Line in" in my sound input and only the internal micrphone works, whenever I plug in headphones with mic the headphones work ok but the mic is not getting recognized and it system preferences it says "internal microphone" with no other options. What can I do to enable the in line /external microphone?

1. Laptop model/Motherboard model -  HP probook 440 g5
2. Codec name - cx8200
3. Layout used with the info what works for you (ideally if you try them all) - 23
4. OS X versions you tried - 10.14.6

Hello, I'm trying to use AppleALC (VodooHDA works, but I don't want to use this one, since the AppleALC give me better sound quality).

I tried both ways: using the Wiki of AppleALC GitHub, and the Olaria easy way of MaLd0n. Non works for me.

my codec: ALC3287 (ALC257, layout 11 or 18)

However, the AppleALC work for me when I use alcid=11 and fast boot:

Do you know how to fix this? Since I dual boot Catalina and High Sierra, it's a bit inconvenient for me to use fast boot. Thank you and good day.

Hardware:

OS: Catalina 10.15.3

CPU: Intel Core i7-8665U Processor (1.90GHz GHz 8MB)

SSD/ HDD: 1TB SSD 970 EVO PLUS PCIe

Motherboard/Laptop model: Intel Coffee Lake-U/Y PCH rev. 30/ Thinkpad P53s

Hi everyone. I kindly ask you for advice regarding the following issue:

I'm running Catalina 10.15.4 and using AppleALC 1.4.7 to try and get audio working on a Toshiba L50-A-1D5 laptop (i7 Haswell, HD4600 igpu, full specs down below).

I'm using Clover 5107, with all added kexts in C/k/O. I have a clean AppleHDA kext and no custom kexts in /S/L/E or /L/E.

I use layout-id=3 for my IDT 92HD99BXX audio (injected as device property; also tried with alcid=x, DSDT patch, regular Clover Inject).

I can only get HDMI audio to work, as you can see from the attached picture. The internal speakers/audio jacks are not recognized.

Tried VoodooHDA and that makes them work, but the headphone audio is very low, so I want to do it properly with AppleALC.

DPCIManager shows two audio devices, one for HDMI and also the IDT one, which doesn't work.

IOREG shows the same two devices as HDAU (8086:0C0C) and HDEF (8086:8C20), respectively.

You have every possible log and diagnostic on my Github. Links below. I also store my full EFI there.

IOREG | DPCIManagerAppleALC_boot_log | Mac_System_Report | gfxutil_dump | codec-dump-card0-hdmi | codec-dump-card1-idt | pinconfigurator_idt_verbs | EFI/Clover

Cheers to anyone that can figure out the issue!

Try this with LayoutID = 22. Report for the result.

You need to add IRQFlag 0,8,11,15 to HPET then Delete IRQFlag from IPIC, RTC and TIMR in your DSDT

Then it mean caused by other. I have Broadwell notebook and there is no problem with audio,, IRQ Flags about HPET, IPIC, TIMR and RTC is important for Broadwell and below.

Make sure you used latest Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext

Hi, I cannot compile the AppleALC master version, updated as of today, with Lilu master, updated as of today.

XCode: 11.4 (11E146)

Mac Os: 10.15.4 (19E266)

Error:

ResourceConverter: Invalid usage
Program ended with exit code: 1

Let me know if you need more info.

The same happens with Whatevergreen, same error.

It seems related to this new XCode or mac os 10.15.4, reverting changes back to my last successful compilation doesn't fix the issue.

UPDATE: reverting back to XCode 11.3.1, will update if it will fix

UPDATE2: definetly a problem of the new XCode 11.4, DO NOT update, 11.3.1 works ok

UPDATE3: you can use also the new Xcode 11.4, but you must download swift package 5.1.3 (swift-5.1-DEVELOPMENT-SNAPSHOT-2020-01-28-a-osx.pkg)

1-Install the swift package

2-Open Xcode --> Top menu --> Xcode --> Toolchains --> Swift 5.1 Snapshot 2020-01-28 (a)

3- Open terminal and run

export TOOLCHAINS=swift
