bgrau
do you have your permissions setup correctly? what are you trying to connect to, a windows pc? Yes using Kext Utility and Disk Utility First Aid. I can't access even shares of a MacBook Air. My aim is to access smb shares of a TP-Link smb server. bgrau
I don't think this is solvable, without Apple SIP no Samba, done on purpose by Apple. With Apple SIP, no Hackintosh.
bgrau
Correction: It solved itself as follows: Reinstall with latest OS X El Capitan over the old copy from the Web Store using a real Mac. Use Carbon Copy to clone the real Mac onto the result. Samba shares and Security settings restored. Why this worked? not much of a clue, bar fixing some things through this lengthy procedure.
