My HDMI audio has always been flaky. Works when it wants.

Have you tried MaLd0n's new DSDT, although even before testing all the new files mine was working fine thought.

Wow, topic is alive now :)

Maybe you share you clean config after all of manipulations?

I see you have USBinjectAll kext< does it need?

I removed USBInjectAll.kext and my USB 3.0 ports are working, I guess we don't need it anymore. At least not on Sierra.

Yeah I tried it with layout 1 and 5 and still no go with hdmi audio.

Do your usb 3 work at 3.0 speeds? I created my own ssdt for usb.

I think with all the fiddling I need a fresh install lol.

Yes, USB 3.0 works with a reasonable speed. but later on I'm gonna do some benchmarks with and without USBInjectall.kext to see if we really need it or not.

well I did run the hdmiaudiodetect.command a while back and maybe that's why I have hdmi audio and yours not working.

https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALCInjection/blob/master/audio_codecdetect.command.zip

That tells me everything is working correctly.

File: audio_codecdetect.command_v2.2

HDMI audio codec(s)
Nvidia:   0x10de0072

Onboard audio codec
Realtek: 0x10ec0900
Name: Realtek ALC1150
Audio ID: 1

Valid audio codec, audio device and Audio ID; audio injection is working

Finished

If you are using the DSDT MaLd0n posted try removing codeccommander.kext, and also remove all the ssdt tables and disable patches. and see if it makes any difference

Good so it works? :)

doing a kext cache cleanup and kext rebuild helps with the situations like this

Yeah I'll run that after I remove kext dev mode. I re enabled it and hdmi audio was gone. Do we need kext dev mode for anything anymore?

as far as I know the kext-dev-mode and rootless=0 are no longer necessary, I don't use them anymore and everything works like it's suppose to do.

Hi Malden. Thanks for replying. Actually I only meant for the HDMI audio specifically. According to Cyberdevs (thanks also for replying)... The HDMI audio didn't work on IGP. Only NVIDIA. That's fine, it just agrees with what i found on my Gaming 3 (after trying Toleda HDMI audio fix, it didn't work). Its OK, just to know about it.

Also thanks Malden for offering to do DSDT. But I don't want to impose. I expect the only other benefit (apart from HDMI audio on the IGP / motherboard) is to try to fix certain other known issues, which are:

* Fix sleep

* Dual monitors on IGP (without needing the hot-plugging trick).

Yet to the best of my knowledge, these ^^ broke things still don't work regardless. Unless you have any different experiences? Then I would like to take a look. (note thats all seems to be about the Intel IGP stuff). As I didn't buy a GPU (yet). Still waiting for VEGA to come out, etc.

For me, patching DSDT properly would only be worth doing for a new benefits. As everthing else already working ok / fine in my existing Gaming 3 config. Mostly its using Clover for the patches. plus 1-2 seperate DSDT that it could not. Anyhow, so much thanks for the kind offer. Just don't want to waste your time.

2 reboots after running this I had hdmi audio. 3rd reboot was gone. I'm thinking a fresh install is needed and maybe stop running the betas on my main rig because I'm on latest .5 beta.

I didn't say HDMI audio didn't work on IGFX, I said my HDMI audio didn't work until I added SSDT-HDMI-HD530.aml. After I added the SSDT even though I didn't have IGPU enabled in BIOS, HDMI audio started to work using my nVidia through HDMI which was connected to a TV.

So you might wanna test if you don't want to use a Patched DSDT.

Give it a try

A fresh install is not a bad idea, but beta or final release it should work. but find ONYX and download it and use the clean up tool for making sure you delete all the caches and rebuild launchservices, dyld' shard cache XPC cache and CoreDuet database

Technically it's the same as running the command but it might help solve the problem

Hey MaLd0n, Welcome back :)

I was wondering if there is anyway to control the fan speed of nvidia GPUs under mac os.

I was testing and benchmarking my GPU and system performance and I noticed my GPU runs about 23 degrees hotter in mac os than windows. so I've been searching as so far I had no luck.

Do you think is it even possible?

not a sensors temp wrong?

In old times in my AMD 4850 i edited bios, my temp is high, rpm cooler is high too, gradually, according to temp

long time ago i posted one tutorial here, but many information is loose time ago too ;)

my Amd the temp is high but cooler stay in low rpm ;)

      Hi!

I have everything working on my Acer notebook, except FN + Brightness keys using VoodoPS2Controller.kext

Now the brightness keys are "Pause+Break = Brightness Up" and "Fn+F12 = Brightness Down" working right now but they are not the actual keys.
The actual brightness keys are "Fn+RightArrow = Brightness Up" and "Fn+LeftArrow = Brightness Down" but they are not working.
The problem is I don't know the codes.
Installed ioio and enabled debugging to console:
Pause/Break is generating: "ApplePS2Keyboard: sending key e045=71" which upper the brightness
Fn+F12 is generating: "ApplePS2Keyboard: sending key 46=6b" which lower the brightness
      Fn+RightArrow/LeftArrow generates nothing.
      Keyboard attached to PS2K
Then I used rehabman's guide to enable ACPIDebugging, Installed kext to L/E, Debug methods (Instrument EC Queries, Add DSDT Debug Methods) to DSDT, but there are no codes generated to the log.

      Attaching debug folder.
Also I don't know if it will help, but on Linux I got a code from decreasing/rising brightness with Fn+Left/RightArrow keys:
      Fn+RightArrow: "0xe0 0x54 0xe0 0xd4"
      Fn+Left: "0xe0 0x4c 0xe0 0xcc"

Also I love using EMlyDinEsH's SmartTouchpad Driver, with that all of my Fn keys are working except Brigtness keys ofc. If there are any fix I would like to use that with the smarttouchpad driver.
      EMlyDinEsH's SmartTouchpad Driver: https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/1948-elan-focaltech-and-synaptics-smart-touchpad-driver-mac-os-x/

      Specs in my signature.
Please help me fix this very last issue on my acer.

Lenovo T460 macOS with Clover Guide
Latest Release on GitHub (April 2019) Updated to Clover r4918 Updated Lilu kexts - ALC, WEG Merged Verleihnix' config.plist - especially to NOT inject GFX Updated BacklightInjector as option to WEG.
Various Tweaks over Last months The zip file is a complete Clover ESP (/EFI) bundle and kext pack for the Lenovo T460. The current file bundle is tested on Sierra.
Note: I never got the GFX fully working on El Capitan.
Full Clover file set - config.plist etc. Includes all custom kexts Includes custom DSDT/SSDT scripts and patches Utility scripts The zip bundles are posted to GitHub: https://github.com/tluck/Lenovo-T460-Clover/releases
Caveat: The T460 systems used here was configured with: i5-6300U, Intel HD Graphics 520, 1920x1080 touch screen. If you have a different system model, then extract the ACPI files and use the included scripts to create a set of files consistent with your system type and BIOS version. See below for details.
Credits: RehabMan, Shmilee, vusun123, TimeWalker, Mieze from which, much of their work and help is/was was used to get the T460 to this point.
      Devices and aspects working:
Ethernet -  Intel I219LM is enabled via IntelMausiEthernext.kext WiFi/BT - substitute the Intel WiFi/BT with a compatible Broadcom or Atheros chip Audio - ALC293 codec implemented via AppleALC.kext (old AppleHDA_ALC293 and CodecCommander kexts are not needed) PS2 - ClickPad + TrackPoint + all 3 buttons - using a modified VoodooPS2Controller to support new layouts - and added some custom Fn key maps based on 440/450 dsdt USB - implemented via custom SSDT + USBInjectAll kext. All USB3/USB2 ports are intel-based and work -  3 external USB and internal Camera, BT, etc  Sleep/Wake - the sleepwatcher package and custom sleep/wake scripts are used to help with sleep/wake for BT and PS2 devices. Note: have not tried to implement the SD card reader - no driver found.

I'm trying to install High Sierra 10.13.3 on an ASUS N552VW laptop, and I get stuck after this message:
"could not recover SATA HDD after 5 attempts, terminating"
      And some other warnings afterwards.
      Specs:
      CPU: Intel Skylake 6700HQ 2.6GHz
      RAM: 16GB DDR4
      2TB HDD + 128GB SSD
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 530 + Nvidia GTX960m
I'm installing using a 16GB USB3 flash drive on one of HDD volumes (UEFI Mode)

I uploaded the verbose log and clover config.plist
