What exactly can FakeCPUID in clover do?

I have a hackintosh running OS X Lion.

When and after I installed I to use a legacy kernel. When I used the original kernel it loaded but just showed but just showed a black screen. Guessing because the pentium D CPU was not recognised.

I recently heard of FakeCPUID in clover.

Doe the FakeCPUID mean that if I was to find the correct ID I could boot with the original kernel even on a Pentium D. This would make my life so much easier.

Exactly is that it does !!

Set FakeCPUID=0x0306A0 in Clover config.plist and you could use vanilla kernel to boot .

This will be a lot easier than searching through the whole of the internet looking for a kernel. I shall try the CPUID provided once I get Clover working (didn't do it before 'cause I had a few problems and I was seeing wheather it was worth the time!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You very much!!!!!!!!
