OS X Yosemite 10.10.2: Final version is out! (UPDATE 01/27/2015)

hi  buda66

when you install a new update, it will overwrite all Apple's apps / system files with new versions... the same thing happens in reverse

but if a new app came with the new update (as iPhoto with 10.10.3 beta), it will not be overwritten with the previous update... the app will still be there but not functional

and in some cases, your OS might be unstable but your data should stay intact

the best thing to do before installing a system update is to make a backup... I think this is the more safe thing   ;)

Thanks, man.

Already tried that. The update fails. But not because I'm trying to install it over a newer version. Or at least that's not the message I get. I don't remember which is the exact error (something like the system is not compatible with the update or some bullcrap like this). I simply cannot select the partition I want it to be installed. They all have that yellow warning icon. Not sure Pacifist will help for this case.

Anyway, apparently my issue was actually caused by other stuff. So no need to revert to 10.10.1 anymore.

yes

the installer has two check functions (installation / volume)

<volume-check script="VolumeCheck()"/>
<installation-check script="InstallationCheck()"/>

just delete both of them and your installer will no more fail

      Hi I am newbie to Mac development and currently trying to get info whether a display is captured, I found such info in doc: CGDisplayIsCaptured(_:).
      https://developer.apple.com/documentation/coregraphics/1562061-cgdisplayiscaptured.
      But this one is deprecated. How can I find out whether a display is captured in other way?
      The goal is: The app should be visible only for user not for those, who see shared screen. So II need to blur the app on screen capture or send notification to user that screen is currently capturing, so I need to know which event cold notify me about that.

      New here, I used to do macs but mainly PCs now. So please excuse my ignorance. Mac stores are closed in Arizona, My friend has a circa 2015 Macbook Pro.  On startup, the line goes about halfway and then goes to a spinning icon that goes on and off.  I did a disk repair and permissions , but it still does the same.  So I tried to reload the OS, it says not found, apparently you cannot download Yosemite anymore.  So, the rest of my machines are windows.  Where do I get Yosemite and how can I build it on a Windows machine that I can have the Mac start up. Help please.

      I just installed. Everything works fine. I'll test final cut pro, premiere pro with 4k footage and get back with you on performance.
      For now moves like a performant Mac book pro.
      I installed Catalina first but I could not make the Intel UHD 620 Graphics get proper QE/CI.
      Mojave is just fine. I want to use this system for quick video editing on the go.
      Geekbench in my signature.
      If you need any files or have any questions pls ask.
