And, well, I bought a new computer with the following build:
ASRock H310M-G/M.2 motherboard
Intel Core i5 8400 2.8ghz
EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6gb
16gb RAM 2400mhz HyperX
SSD Kingston a1000 m.2 240gb
I had a problem with "Still waiting for root device" when I was trying to boot the USB Install Disk I made. I managed to boot the installation using the USBInjectAll.kext and PMHeart's patch on config.plist.
After that, I proceeded and formatted the 500gb HDD to install 10.13.6 on it. It starts copying the installation files to the HDD with a message poiting 5 minutes left. Then, on 2 minutes left, the installation freezes for a couple os seconds then it reboots. Did that again on verbose mode, it gave me this message:
After it reboots, I booted the USB Install Disk again and used it to boot the 500gb HDD to continue the installation. After it boots, it starts the installation with a message saying 22 minutes left and, less than 1 minute later, I get a panic with this message on verbose:
When I boot again, the installation continues to the point that says that it can't be installed. Well, I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried a bunch of stuff and nothing worked so far. Do you guys have any tips? Thank you in advance.
do you know where someone could start getting involved in development for Hackintosh / IOS (jailbreaks etc.) development? I am searching for information about the Kernel development rather than developing apps.
I recently finished my bachelor of engineering in electric engineering but the computer science always interested me more. We are being tought about some principles of a operation systems and writing code in c..
Until know I found the apple developer website, and the books from Jonathan Levin (but they are some kind of expensive for my current situation as a student).
I also think that it would be useful to get started with the structure of the linux kernel.
Do you have more sources I could learn more? How did you become what you are know in the hackintosh community?
Google is not very helpful "Hackintosh development" only brings up how to develop apps with an hackintosh...
I posted it in AMD because I am especially interested in the kernel manipulation to get the XNU Kernel working under AMD. If this is the wrong corner, please move it in the right one.
And for sure other sources are the wikis of insanelymac and the other hackintosh websites!
I am new to this hackintosh world (about 1 week now) and I am very impressed with the sort of results it has yielded in my workflow. I use my laptop for guitar DSP and recording audio and have been able to come up with a good enough mackintosh build for it (using High Sierra 10.13.1 now).
For the past one week I have been trying to get rid of an annoying popup "your computer was. restarted because of an error". If you take a look at the error report you shall notice Darwin 18.0.0 as being mentioned, which I presume is Mojave.
What I had done is install 10.13.1 -> 10.13.3 -> 10.13.5 -> 10.14 Beta, where the 10.14 Beta failed and since then the error started popping up. After that I have reinstalled 10.13.1 multiple times, installed it to a different hard disk, used 'shred' from a linux live session on my laptops HDD and installed and still that error message won't go away.
Everything functions fine, the error message is just annoying. If someone can help me get rid of it, it would just make the hackontish build cooler.
