looks like you already fixes all CPU problems, i went back and test couple of times, sometimes it random boot in Opcode errors once awhile and its seems your latest kernel vs Bronya rc6 benchmark faster than his thats a good start..and i say this in my perspective i have FX cpu and he does too..but the matter you fixes the FSB corrections for overclockers and 990fx chipsets stability..i appreciated your hardwork,,still need lot more people like yoursevles can figureout of making drivers and kexts since hackers is not going to wait for apple fix things on next patches...maybe we should all starting hacking on drivers next since kernels is not going help any much since already running 100% on my AMD FX correctly now its figure out why the GPU slowdowns with apps and Benchmarks than last Maverick version was running lot faster in those areas..

Ok .
Fixed tsc.c , rtclock.c ,opemu.c and trap.c.
Is tested and is normal works without "opcode invalid ".
But it can get problem sound ! On FX-cpu  sound fine , but on old-cpus have problem sound .
I will try did plan - this tsc.c will read fsb from bootloader ;) .

attachicon.gifmach_10.10_all_amd_rc6.zip

P.S. I tested vlc player version 2.0.9 on real iMac12,2 . I indeed received problem sound also how on AMD !!!
Because vlc player version 2.0.9 - this vlc_player  bad !
VLC version 2.1.2 is normal .

Hi Bronya, the file isn't available anymore... can you repost?

Thanks!

Thanks for such an excellent kernel and kext which are working in 10.10.2 and 10.10.3 for my AMD Hackintosh with Asus M4A78 Plus MB, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, and Nvidia GTX 680 GPU.

WOW!!! Awesome!!!

I installed 10.10.3 beta via App Store and it works just perfect!

And most importantly, I don't know how but iCloud now work perfect. Before update I can get sync in all apps with iCloud, but in System Preferences it still wanted that I confirm my iCloud account with password and says that my ID valid but not iCloud account.

But after update My iCloud begin works fully for all 100%!!!

Thanks!!! Great kernel and kext!

Thank you very much for your excellent kexts (no npci kexts) which solved my AMD Hackintosh problems in Mavericks 10.9.5.

But I found these seem not compatible with Yosemite 10.10.1.

Can you provide newer kexts for Yosemite 10.10.1 ?

This kernel rc7 read busFreq from only bootloader !

In trap.c delete "invalid rdmsr" and implement in opemu.c !

Bootloader chameleon version 2594 !

Please try !

Finally ! :thumbsup_anim:

With 1010-kernel-REV-8N and 10102-UPD-Patch-pthread.kext, my Athlon 64 x2 3800+ works good with 10.10.2 and latest Security Update !

Great works and many thanks to all of you :thumbsup_anim:

I just still have a little anoying problem with Time Sync… The clock doesn't update as it should. But I can manage that as it's not essential.

Hey. the clock problem sounds like the fsb is set incorrectly. note: cpu fsb and pci bus speed are normally linked unless you can lock/set the pci bus speed manually (impacting connected devices) did you try clover, it auto detects fsb well. maybe you just need to set your fsb manually with your current bootloader / kernel configuration? hope you work it out!

btw incredible work here guys!

Hey. the clock problem sounds like the fsb is set incorrectly. are you overclocking? did you try clover, it auto detects fsb well. maybe you need to set the fsb manually? incredible work here guys

No overclocking. And yeah, I tried Clover but it won't even boot on my HP dc5750. It always stops at the Maintenance screen (or whatever his name).

try boot flag -cpuEFI

Thanks, I'll try this.

Update : No change with this boot flag :(

Update 2 : added fsb=800 busratio=10 in kernel flags but still no changes. BTW, is VoodooTSCSyncAMD.kext still necessary with this new Kernel ?

Amazing; he's done it again!  :w00t:

'just tried Bronya's rc7 kernel on the 10.10.1 installation I had not touched for months on my old dual-core "Paxville" Xeon-based Dell Precision 670. 'was previously running Bronya's kernel rc2.1. Anyway, the new results are just... brilliant!

  • I no longer have the graphics corruption on Yosemite desktop
  • screenshots are no longer single red/blue/yellow/b&w colour
  • I can safely edit screenshots in Preview and save them without getting a corrupt picture in the end
  • Safari no longer crashes me out and runs without graphics corruption
  • Chrome running Ok too and without graphics corruption
  • Youtube online videos running Ok
  • Audio working Ok (I'm using one of those (shamely cheap) PnP USB audio devices)
  • I can click/double click in top or middle of file/app icons to open/launch them, no longer need to target the bottom of the icons
  • Desktop/Screen Saver PrefPane is by far and large trouble free, although the occasional background corruption prevails
  • I no longer appear to need NullCPUPowerManagement kext
  • Sleep & Wake remain fully natively operational

Seemed to boot faster too. Still using Chameleon r2401. Unlike under Mav, I do feel some lag but this is a 10yr old piece of s***t dinosaur workstation! I'm totally chilled!

WYSIWIG = What You See Is What I Get !!! Still running Duran Keeley's fixes for AppStore but wondering if I still need them...

Off to try Tora Chi Yo's own kernel now... winner gets a BJ... Erm... not!  :P

:thumbsup_anim: Great, thanks.

Well, here's the verdict: Bronya 1 / Tora Chi Yo 0

Got "invalid user opcode (64bit): c4 e2 7d 18 c0 c5 fc 11 01 48" error message with Tora Chi Yo's kernel. So, clearly not supporting legacy Intel "Paxville" Xeon platform.

'was able to update to 10.10.2 using Bronya's rc7 kernel + axmanA's patched IOPCIFamily kext (to fix my usual desktop init problem with nVidia card). nVidia's web driver being updated too (to v343.01.02f02)... Removed Duran's AppStore fix too.

      Hello there!

TL:DR; I built a Hackintosh system using the OpenCore Vanilla Desktop Guide (running Catalina 10.15.4) and I use an AMD Ryzen 1600 CPU and Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU. All works well except my displays are very blurry and it feels like I’ll get a headache if I try to look at the screen for very long. The picture quality is noticeably worse than Windows or Linux. What can I do to fix it?

      --

Let me start off by saying that this is my first hackintosh build. I based my build on the Opencore Vanilla Desktop Guide at https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/. I’m running macOS Catalina 10.15.4.

So I finished installing macOS after slowly and carefully taking about 8-10 hours to go through the guide yesterday and make sure I did everything properly. It paid off - it has been solid as a rock. However, there is one problem that is currently bugging me to no end - my displays are very blurry. This seems to be independent of any application or display resolution. My dock icons are blurry, the system text is blurry, app text is blurry (like in Slack, Safari, Notes, etc). This does not occur in Linux or Windows when using the same screens.

Also, as a test, I hooked up my girlfriend’s MacBook Pro to the same two screens, and the monitors are crystal clear again, just like they usually are in Windows. This leads me to think that my EFI may be configured improperly or my system may be missing some software or a kext that enables the displays to show a sharp image. I attached my EFI folder and my config.plist file for reference.

      EFI setup:
      ACPI: SSDT-EC-USBX-AMD.aml Drivers: ApfsDriverLoader.efi OpenRuntime.efi VBoxHfs.efi Kexts: AppleALC.kext AppleMCEReporterDisabler.kext Lilu.kext RealtekRTL8111.kext VirtualSMC.kext WhateverGreen.kext (version 1.3.8) My boot args are: "npci=0x2000 agdpmod=pikera keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 alcid=1"
      System specs:
Ryzen 5 1600, no overclock or anything special Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB RAM, 32GB total (2x16GB DDR4 dimms running at 2400MHz) XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT RAW II 8GB GPU (this is listed as a PCIe 4.0 GPU, could that cause issues since my motherboard is PCIe 3.0 only? Works great in Windows/Linux) ASUS Prime B350M-A motherboard Samsung PM961 256GB NVMe SSD
      My monitors:
      Samsung U32J59x (32” @ 3840x2160) ASUS MX279 (27” @ 1920x1080) The blurry issue also occurs when I plug directly into my 58" Samsung 4K TV.
      I’ve already tried these steps:
Adjusting monitor “sharpness” settings, totally unbearable at “0” but still looks pretty bad even at “100” Trying a bunch of different resolutions in the “Display” preferences. On the 4k monitor, the only one that looks any better is the 1920x1080p option, but then I have far too little screen space left. Using SwitchResX, no different than using different resolutions in the regular Display preferences Using subpixel antialiasing in the terminal with no noticeable difference, even through reboots Turning on/off AMD FreeSync on my 4K monitor — if I turn on FreeSync, the display lags and stutters, and quality is not any better. Also tried turning on/off “game mode” but that had no difference. Tried switching DisplayPort version between 1.1 and 1.2 in monitor settings (on 4K monitor) Checking my BIOS settings, such as making sure CSM is off, against the OpenCore guide that I used to make sure everything was correct
Does anyone else have some other ideas that could help to correct this issue? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I have been using clover to install and configuration my Hackintosh High Sierra 10.13.6. It's been a struggle and a pain. Can't restart/shutdown/wake from sleep. Random freezes. When freeze happens mouse works but in loading state. UI and open apps freeze not the mouse. I can make the apps smaller and move them.

I haven't used any DSDT nor SSDT. Tried 5 or 6 of them from others but sometimes i end up not booting. Could someone explain me do i even need them and why? Do i need DSDT or SSDT or both?

I'm going to try to install everything OpenCore. The first thing is i can't use a method that needs an internet while installing MacOS cause my ethernet/internet only works when i install MacOS. So i can't use the images i need full installation. Okay i have the full installation for 10.13.6. I need to use a version 10.13.4-6 versions cause application Sketch needs the newer one High Sierra 10.13.4++ version.

Can you tell me? Can i use same kexts from Clover on OpenCore? Secondly how can i install full USB MacOS installer? (High Sierra 10.13.6 version i have is 7gb i think thats it)
Is there a version of AMDHigh Sierra version made from the community for 10.13.4++ version?
If i use the normal 10.13.6 High Sierra should i use this AMD 10.13.6 Kernel when i have installed the MacOS or some other kernel that's better for my system? https://github.com/Shaneee/AMD-High-Sierra-XNU/releases
Whats the best version of High Sierra to use for Ryzen and Nvidia system?

Will it be better to use OpenCore?

      Specs:
      Mortar Max B450M
      Ryzen 2600x
      Nvidia GTX 1060
      16gb DDR4 2400mhz

      Hi everyone,

I have run into a frustrating problem here.

      My hardware:
      MSI x399 Meg Creation
      2990WX
      64GB ram @2933Mhz
      Radeon 7
      Sata: Samsung 130GB SSD
      M.2: Samsung 970 Pro 1TB(latest firmware)

      Using OpenCore 0.5.6
      (NVMeFix NVMeDxe installed)
I have successful installed OSX catalina onto my 130GB. It works flawlessly.

and then I figure I should do it on my M.2 drive. It installs flawlessly, at the last stage of installation, it naturally restart and thats it.
I can not boot into this newly installed OS on the M.2 drive. it keeps throwing: "error loading kernel cache 0x1"

I have tried deleting the prelinkedkernel from recovery partition. Tried rebuilding cache(I have not installed any kext into L/E).

All this time, I can use the same boot USB to boot into catalina on my sata 130Gb SSD working just fine.

attached is my EFI folder. I have tried all the suggested SMBios iMacPro1,1 MacPro6,1 MacPro7,1

is this ruled out that samsung 970Pro doesnt work?
      Please help.

New here, I used to do macs but mainly PCs now. So please excuse my ignorance. Mac stores are closed in Arizona, My friend has a circa 2015 Macbook Pro.  On startup, the line goes about halfway and then goes to a spinning icon that goes on and off.  I did a disk repair and permissions , but it still does the same.  So I tried to reload the OS, it says not found, apparently you cannot download Yosemite anymore.  So, the rest of my machines are windows.  Where do I get Yosemite and how can I build it on a Windows machine that I can have the Mac start up. Help please.
