got the basics, please help... sleep & power etc! (10.9.4 / Asus P8B75-V / i7 3770 / GT210)

Hi,

after a few KP's i managed to get my fresh Mavericks 10.9.4 system working relatively smoothly, but i'm not really sure about Power Management, Speedstep, C-States,P-States etc and also Wake from Sleep is broken. (No video signal on wake). I don't really know about patching my motherboard etc. Couldn't find any pre-made patches. Also i don't really understand whether i need SSDT or DSDT (apparently not the latter for UEFI Mobo?) and I don't know how i test eg C-States, P-States etc or what I need them for.

One thing that's a possible "issue" is the Corsair H80i, attached to the Mobo via mini-usb. there's no controller software for OSX obviously. When I had a 10.9 Mavericks working with Sleep, it would wake itself up immediately with GLAN EHC2. This may have been the USB connection on the fan forcing it to wake up but not sure. Currently though Wake is broken as mentioned, so I can't just test that issue by unplugging the USB at the moment)

any advice & links would be gratefully appreciated.

Presumably first step would be to fix the system to be able to remove NullCPUPowerManagement?

thanks

J

Mavericks 10.9.4 (from App Store)
myHack installer
myHack AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement patch

GraphicsEnabler=Yes
Realtek81xx kext for ethernet (or might be using EthernetBuiltIn=Yes... not sure, as both present)
Envy24 audio drivers for m-audio Audiophile2496
Chameleon NVFileRam kext for iMessage fix

i think i managed to patch my AICPM enough to remove NullCPUPM (it's booting ok without it), but now after sleep/wake i get a KP when i go to terminal and start to type a find command (see screenshot)

backtrace IOHIDFamily => dependency AppleFDEKeyStore .. and ... IOGraphicsFamily => dependency IOPCIFamily

repair your disk permissions and rebuild the cache, for this use KextWizard app.

you changed something in those kexts? backtrace IOHIDFamily => dependency AppleFDEKeyStore .. and ... IOGraphicsFamily => dependency IOPCIFamily

I don't even think that your motherboard supports flashing. Some B75 motherboards do not have the flashing feature, so you will have to generate your own SSDT and use a patched AICPUPM.kext as charliebounce mentioned.

Hello

I didn't change anything in those Kexts IOHIDFamily, AppleFDEKeyStore, IOGraphicsFamily, IOPCIFamily

I don't believe thta problem are in these kexts... the problems is in the system... bad configuration...

Please try that method i gave to you, it'll help you to install OSX, after that is only care about post-installation

leonvmetcalf: i have done the AICPM patch and SSDT and sleep/wake working mostly fine now apart from the issue below with my TC Powercore PCI DSP cards not being recognized on restart or wake (although it's own control panel does see 2 cards, just not recognized)

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299743-powercore-pci-cards-not-recognized-after-restart-or-sleepwake/?do=findComment&comment=2043688

also I have some odd output during bootup about sleep, stepper and ErP timer, (see screenshot) and similar to this

      Problem:
When I Attempt to wake my Machine from sleep, the screen stays black, although the computer is obviously awake !
This Machine has a 1300W Power Supply So Sleep is Very Useful.

      I Tried:
      1) FIX_WAK and FixShutdown as per Clover Wiki.
      2) Although I am using "SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB GDDR5", which Should be completely Supported by Mojave, I Also changed the Part Number to "113-4E353BU-O4E" as per this Guide: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/archives/feb18/RadeonRX-580_MacPro.html. The GPU is working GREAT without even Clover Inject
      3) Tried to Run this command: disablehibernate.command.zip
      4) Tried darkwake=0 to 10
      5) Disabled wake on USB & Wake on LAN (BIOS)

      Ciao ragazzi,

      Grazie anticipatamente.

So after a gazillion tries with High Sierra, i gave up and decided to try Mojave. I had nothing to lose, afterall.

I started from scratch. I reformatted my thumb drive. Made it bootable from the Mojave #####. Booted with it. Selected my language. It installed a little bit. Rebooted. I Booted from the SSD. Installed a bit more. Rebooted. I Booted from the SSD again and it finished the installation.

I went through the basic setup and got to the desktop. I ran ##### and selected my options and "built" it.

Thinking i was a-ok, i decided to reboot, just to make sure all was well.

After about 1min, i lose display.

I thought i had messed something up in #####, so i decided to go back to my mac mini, redo the thumb drive all over again.

I go to boot from the thumb drive and when i get to the language selection screen, i lose all USB usage, so i cant even get in to wipe the SSD and start over. So, Mojave is still on the SSD, but i cant get to it because i lose display.

Im attaching a screenshot of Verbose mode right before i lose display.

I would greatly appreciate any help to get back into it or at least help getting it re-installed!!

      First, my build:

      Asus ROG Strix H370-I mobo
      i5 8400 cpu
      32gb ddr 4 2133
      1tb samsung evo 860 ssd

Ive finally gotten to the point where the installation of HS loads to the language selection screen, but then i lose all usage of every USB port.

Im at a loss of what to do from here.

According to others, i have the proper files in the kexts/other folder as well as the drivers64UEFI folder.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do? Im getting kinda desperate as ive been at it for a week now and this is as far as ive gotten.

So I FINALLY got my High Sierra thumb drive to boot and once I got to the language selection screen, I noticed I lost all connectivity to my keyboard and mouse.

i tried plugging in both into all of my USB ports (2.0, 3.0, 3.1) to no avail.

i made sure I had the latest USBInject kext and XHCI-Unsupported kext in the Other folder.

i also noticed whilst troubleshooting, the thumb drive will ONLY boot using Verbose and plugged into one of the 2 3.1 ports.

does anyone have ANY suggestions?? I’ve been struggling for a week now on this!!

      thanks in advance
