rvoosterhout
Hey Guys, I'm not able to get past the boot screen. It goes directly into a kernal pannic I used the manual on this website to make a Mavericks USB. I took a screenshot with -v Link to full image size: http://imageshack.com/a/img843/8104/ia7i.jpg Thanks for helping me out. Gringo Vermelho
Your kernel panic is caused by locked MSR 0xE2 register. There are three ways to get around or fix this: Use nullCPUPM.kext or equivalent, patch AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext, or patch your BIOS with pmpatch if possible. Krazubu
A fourth one : you can simply delete AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext You could have searched before posting for such issue.
rvoosterhout
I used a patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext, but no effect. About flashing my bios, am i still able to boot windows after I flashed it?
rvoosterhout
I prepared the USB stick again, and did something else. I removed the AMD6000.kext and replace the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext with a flashed one for my motherboard. Still getting a kp
k3nny
@rvoosterhout: Try using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, as advised in the tutorial. Also try booting with -f.
rvoosterhout
I'll try it tonight. And When i'm using the NullCPUPowerMangement.kext, do i have to delete the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagment.kext?
k3nny
You should leave it. NullCPUPowerMangement will prevent it from being used.
rvoosterhout
Got a little bit further again. Now no kernal pannic, but it freezes on the spinning rainbow wheel.
k3nny
Did you install FakeSMC.kext?
rvoosterhout
Yes, it's in System/Library/Extensions
k3nny
Try to boot with -f again. I suspect that FakeSMC is not in the kernel cache and isn't found by the OS.
RehabMan
Try to boot with -f again. I suspect that FakeSMC is not in the kernel cache and isn't found by the OS. Looks like FakeSMC.kext is installed to me. Evidence: "DSMOS has arrived." This looks more like a graphics problem, and without detailed specs on the hardware involved, no one can help...
