doubljdog Posted October 3, 2006 Share Posted October 3, 2006 I've been reading up on some threads saying we can't use the new kernel because they stripped out legacy cpu features and only includes the core duo features. So if we have a core duo, would it be possible to edit out the tpm check in the kernel and boot up. If we could I think there might be a better chance to have all the new kexts working, hopefully including nvidia drivers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
munky Posted October 3, 2006 Share Posted October 3, 2006 theoretically, yes. one of the things needed is HPET support, which Pentium D chips (like mine) have, so this is something i'd like to see. if you fancy your chances, you can always download the kernel source and get hacking...
