Keynote on my OSx86

I'm very happy to say that I have been able to create two different installs of OSX Mountain Lion; one using VirtualBox and the other using VMWare.  They both work reasonably well.

My question is around running a particular application: Keynote.  I purchased a copy of Keynote but it is unusable on both instances.  The slide preview appears on the left bar, but there is no image in the main edit window.  Have tried everything I can: 3D graphics are enabled, i've thrown about 128MB of VRAM at it, but no solution.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any ideas or solutions?  I really don't want to buy a Mac just so I can use this app.

Thanks

Hello.

Welcome

You do not have QE/CI because it Keynote doesn't work ...

What are your settings?
Put in your signature is very best to help you ...

But my solution is that you install OSX not emulate it, many things doesn't work with emulation, one of them is the QE/CI.
If you already have OS X installed on VM then create a USB bootable with OS X(Sl,L or ML) to install it.

download or purchase the image.

Thanks very much for the suggestion.  In both cases I've installed ML 10.8.3 on the Virtual Machine rather than 'emulated' it. I assume that is what you meant.

I'm wondering if it's just that my graphics card is unsupported for QE/CI.  I've looked into the Mac's System Information and all it says about Graphics/Displays is:

"Chipset Model: Vmware SVGA II

Type: GPU

Bus:PCI

VRAM (Total): 128MB

then some device and vendor ids and some details on resolution... nothing specific about QE/CI.

Many thanks for any thoughts.

Hello.

Ok, but i wanna meant you need realy installe it... install in your hardware.

Chipset Model: Vmware SVGA II

Type: GPU

Bus:PCI

VRAM (Total): 128MB

I talk about this, emulation don't use or show your real hardware, only use a fake hardwar to emulate.

Oh I see.  No, I'm not going to do that.  I want to run a Windows machine but need the ability to run Mac OSX (and specifically, run Keynote) in a Virtual Image.

Well, August has ended, and anxiety increases

As you know, we always have two (public) Apple keynotes. In the first Keynote we get to know a little bit about Apple's operating systems (Mobile and Desktop).

Now let's see the news about Apple's hardware:

      Official releases

      iPadPro with 12,9 inch

The new iPadPro brings the new "Metal" technology.
You can run 4 videos in 4k resolution, wow
And includes a Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil integrated

      - Thanks Microsoft
      Apple TV
The Apple TV brings a new Smart Control, with integrated Siri, and you can play some games.

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus

The most incredible technology in not Force Touch, but is the 3D Touch!

      Specs:
A9 chip with 64-bit architecture - Embedded M9 motion coprocessor
New 12-megapixel iSight camera with 1.22µ pixels
      4K video recording (3840 by 2160) at 30 fps

OS X El Capitan - Availabel September 30

Apple has also added some jokes to Siri - this is pretty cool:

This keynote begins at 10AM PDT - You can watch it here:
