Hi gang. I currently have an almost fully working 10.4.7 machine running on an AMD Sempron 3000+. Networking, bluetooth, RAID, sound, etc. all working. The only thing that I cannot get to work (along with many others) is the QE/CI on my Radeon 9000 card. I feel it's time to get a different card instead.

SO, what's the best graphics card to get that 'should' cause me the least headaches in getting QE/CI running. I will be using an AGP port for the card if it makes any difference.

Obviously the best scenario would be to just plug a card in, do some simple config and have everything working (ability to change the screen resolution and frequency via system preferences, no mouse tearing, etc). I do not plan to drive two monitors or anything, just an old DELL M991 monitor and maybe later a 20 inch cinema display.

I have looked at the hardware compatibility list but it can get confusing with people saying YES to the everything working with no 3rd party drivers column, only to see they then list a bunch of stuff they had to do.

Please advise.

So I take it from the lack of replies that this is not so easy after all. I was sure there would be a few people who've got their cards fully supported with minimal effort.

Ah well. I think I might have to try an X600 or X800 Radeon and see what I can do with it.

Cheers.
