zcream Posted February 3, 2013 Share Posted February 3, 2013 Am I missing something ? On my G5 cable, the ports for Firewire (3,4,5,7) are joined into a fat cable. The ports for USB (6,11,12) are also joined into a fat cable. I cut the G5 cable in my mobo exactly into half. How is this even possible ?' I stripped the USB cable to make sure. This is a G5 cable cut in half: As I mentioned on my response to you on my website, that is simply shielding that can be removed (just plastic and aluminum foil). ATX is far to generic and I immediately thought about the original TeslaConverter that came with the G5 and trying to adapt that to work with the standard ATX power plugs and power requirements.
