Dell GX280

Custom pc pentium 4 asus board

All good.

However I'm looking to build a new machine with

1333 type ram speed / bus

Quad core and ddr3

I write music and the core 2 duo maxes out when

I'm nearing the end of a tracks construction :

Lots of eq. Compression. Plugs. Delays. Virtual instruments etc.

I'm confused about the many types of processor quad core and

Above.

Is there a table showing all the successful CPU hardware for SL and Lion ?

I'm assuming 6 core and above has no kext support yet ?

Are amd intel equivalents stable ?

3ghz quad core Xeon or phenom would be ideal surely ?

Many thanks
