New OS X compatible motherboard -> QUO

I have two SSDs, one of them brand new - they work and boot just fine with every single BIOS version except 1669. I used the exact same process to create the installation on the brand new Samsung EVO 850 than I did on a some old HDD I had in a shelf. It doesn't even finish the install on the SSD, but it installed first time on the HDD.

I think it is a little bit too big coincidence that I have two broken SSDs, with one of them being brand new, out of the box, purchased 3 days ago...

check your sata plugs i mean really check next check your bios make sure you have the right revision flashed and as i said run them through linux for errors and answer anything asked of you to get this fixed

Once again, I am 99.9% sure you SSD's are just fine, but since you refuse to answer on my questions I am done with this subject!

Did you bother reading up on my post?

Your questions have been answered there for a while already - the board edits the original post if your reply twice in a row...

The other question is uppon my problem. I really don't want to reinstall my system without guarantee for success. What's your recommandation?

My last option is to do a clean installation...

Weird for some reason I didn't saw that post LOL & sorry...

Since I can't replicate this issue and dumps/logs does not help, I have no other idea.

I don't freaking get it...

So, this is where I am at:
- I have two test drives: one SSD and one HDD (they are NEVER plugged at the same time - this just for testing HDD install vs SSD install)
- Windows install USB media was created as instructed
- trying to install Windows to SSD fails when you reach the stage the PC reboots first time (black screen after reboot)
- using the exact same USB media and process but installing to HDD works perfect
- trying to restore/clone the working Windows install in HDD to SSD does not work
- installing Ubuntu 15.04 to the SSD works just fine and it boots (it was the last thing I tried)
- reverting BIOS to previous version = SSD windows install works fine and boots.

I am now going to wipe the Linux install from the SSD, revert the BIOS to old version, install Windows with the same process I have been using so far, confirm it boots and then come back to 1669.

So... I am out of ideas soon.
I don't think the SSDs are defective, but maybe they have some compatibility issue with Windows?

Update: - Installing Windows now on the SSD with the exact same process and settings but... in the old BIOS. As expected, going perfectly. After it installs, I will update BIOS again back to 1669

Unfortunately, have to confirm the SSD did not boot in 1669, but not sure if now with these logs it is possible to get a little bit further.

Based on a guess after reading some other user experiences in a different forum, I switched from AHCI to IDE in 1669 and... SSD booted first time, still in UEFI mode.

Any ideas now?

What user experiences and on what forum, link(s)?

Now that you did a clean install on ssd with 1479, keep only that ssd in and flash original F2N that comes with motherboard, if works then is one of the changes made to H2N BIOS or Ozmosis.

If works with original F2N, flash H2N 1669 and after the Ozmosis Logo reboot, and keep pressing ESC key until you see a red screen, if boots then is not H2N BIOS changes and is Ozmosis bug.

I don't even know anymore - must have read about 50 different threads in forums today about SSDs not booting. One led me to some guy mentioning he could boot in IDE but not in AHCI so, I decided to change to IDE just to see what would happen - it booted.

About your request, I need to quickly go out and shop something but will do it as soon as I am back - max in 30 mins.

Results:

- H3C (with loaded optimized defaults) - Installed to SSD, booted all without issues

- F2N - Flashed it after H3C without making any changes - Windows booted fine

- H2N (without Ozmosis, disabled via ESC key) - Did not boot. Bug is in H2N source BIOS.

Is it possible to get an alternative H3C with the up-to-date Ozmosis?

Finally the bug is located!

It can be one of the updated -ROM's/EFI RAID drivers.

Wait for a new release or update your H3C with files from H2N if you cannot wait.

P.S. you made an habit to not answer on all my questions...

Ive decided to downgrade to 1479 for now. No need to update to El Capitan when everything is working great in Mavericks. I was experiencing some screen artifacts on my second monitor, very similar to another user on here.

Thanks again for your continued support KING

Is there a guide or instructions for this somewhere? Exactly which BIOs parts should be changed?

I have edited one BIOS from a different board while ago just to update a RAID controller BIOS, but that was a long time and tools/process was obviously different.

Here the one I did some days ago: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cyqxi4mp3ctg6le/Z77MXQUOAOS.H3C.1669M.ROM, it's H3C updated with 1669. I'm currently using it, hope it can help.

Thanks - I actually made one also meanwhile, but if it doesn't work, I will try yours ;)

Did you try el Capitan on it? If so, it works ;)

Yes I tried and I also confirm that it works.

Hey there, did this H3C injection help with your screen artifacts?

Thank you.

No, it doesn't. Maybe if you disable Intel injection? But for myself, the goal was to get the gfe dvi2 working by disabling nvidia injection, and to not have to use the igpu. So igpu is active but not connected, I can have Air Mirroring without "screen unplugged beeps". I have just updated my gfe vbios to gop vbios.

Finally got back to this. Last time (days ago) I left it on the black screen and now today I came back and it actually had booted, but it was apparently not done with the update to 10.11.2. I let that finish and it was working but I decided to do a clean install and, after a few issues (apparently diskmaker x uses clover, or didn't delete the clover installer I had made before on the same stick) and about a 15 cycle boot loop after time machine restore everything's up and running. I don't seem to be having any time machine related boot issues or nvidia problems. Great work, devs. Now I just need to fiddle with the default plist to get my SMBIOS sorted out.

Edit: Spoke too soon. Don't have any sound. I'll have to work on it. I think probably because I had tried installing VoodooHDA manually back on 1479 and it got restored with my Time Machine backup. Oddly enough, sound was working on 1669/10.11.1 before the re-install.

Edit2: Removed VoodooHDA and HDADisabler and after a couple reboots all's working again.

Things that make you go Mmmmmm

This only happens to me when running El Capitan, does not do it under Yosemite or Windows (my main OS is still Yosemite)

I experience the same behavior whith H3C.1479 and H3A.1669M.

When I do a shutdown everything goes normally until the CPU halted message (i have verbose mode on)

Under Yosemite CPU halted message -> Power supply cuts the power almost instantly

Under El Capitan CPU halted mesage -> There is a clear delay (would say about 20-30 seconds) before power supply cuts the power

Any idea where I could look for hints on what is going on ?

Found a fix for this : Delete com.apple.UserEventAgent-LoginWindow.plist and UserEventAgent-Aqua.plist from /System/Library/LaunchAgents. You need to disable SIP to do this or you can do it by booting a non-El Cap partition.

      Ciao a tutti.
cosa posso fare? grazie a tutti

      Hello guys.
This is not my first hackintosh, but this will be the first time to create a hackintosh with thunderbolt.
First of all, i have read some info about MoBos with Thunderbolt, but im a bit confused.
I need to create a working hackintosh with Thunderbolt 2/3 .

At this moment i know that we got 2 options (Correct me if im wrong),
-we can get one MoBo and ad a Pcie Card with thunderbolt (only if the chipset is compatible)
-we can get one MoBo with thunderbolt integrated via USB-C connectors (like the new Macbook Pro)

What are the possible MoBos that have integrated Thunderbolt vía USB (or directly thundelbolt ports)?
I have read a lot of buyers guides from some webs , but a lot of that MoBos with thunderbolt enabled, are "discontinued" or without stock
Should we only choose Gigabyte MoBos?

I Have been too looking at Gigabyte website, and seems that the Chipset Z170 its the only one with Thunderbolt (vía USB-C)
      ports.

Could you help me with these please?

      Thanks You So Much!

      Hello.

It's been about 3 or 4 years since I built my first, and so far only hackingtosh. I did so fallowing a guide written by good guy ^Andy^, witch came with hardware recommendations. I now feel it's time for me to upgrade to a faster system to keep up with heavier work loads. I'm strongly considering building a hackingtosh around the new i7-6700K Skylake processor, but I haven't come across guides for  this type of processor. I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a motherboard that's compatible and that won't become a hassle when trying to install OS X. Also, if there's a guide you know of, please let me know.

      Thanks in advance.

      Hi,
      I'm currently running a Windows 7 x64 PC with:

      8GB DDR3 Ram

      AMD FX 4170 GPU

      AMD Radeon HD 7870 CPU

      1TB HDD (Windows 7)

      150GB HDD (Blank)

      Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 Motherboard
I am aware that getting OSX on an AMD machine is not an easy task, but can it be done with my setup?

I am currently running OSX 10.8.3 in VMWare which is OK but lags a fair bit and lacks any kind of 3d acceleration and would like to be able to dual boot it natively alongside windows on the 150GB HDD.

      Thanks

Makes OS X and the installer work with the nForce 430 chipset.

More specifically, allows OS X/installer to see the SATA and IDE (yes, IDE, too!) devices plugged in to your computer, including hard drives and disk drives.

This kext does NOT make nForce LAN or anything else work, just SATA and IDE/ATA HDDs and ODDs.

      ---------------------------

Works great with the Compaq Presario SR55 series!
