Have been shopping around for some new PC parts and want to make sure that they are OSX compatible....

Motherboard is that last item and I have been eyeing this one due to needing 3 PCI-E slots.

Will the NIC and sound be reconised by OSX?

Sound is SoundMAX AD1988B

NIC is Marvel Yukon

I have this board up and working more or less. For graphics, I had to use an ATI card in order to get working drivers with QE/CI. I am using the ATI X1600 Pro with VGA connection. For networking, I had to download and install the skge.kext - just search for the Marvell Yukon driver on this forum. For Audio, it sortof works. I deleted AppleHDA.kext and modified AppleAzaliaAudio.kext to point to 1988B codec (0x11d4198b) and modify AzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleAzaliaController.kext/Contents/Info.plist - IOPCIPrimaryMatch to 27b88086 (ICH7). This enabled audio output, but no input and doesn't seem to work with quicktime yet. I'm still trying to track that issue down. Not sure why iTunes and normal sounds work but no sound out of Quicktime...

Best of luck.

That's really good to know - looking forward to buy the P5W64.

Had any other issues with this board? Does the firewire work?

I'm building a DAW (digital audio workstation). I already have the M-Audio ProjectMix I/O console, and willing to buy the Apple Logic software if it'll work.

@TECH_ATTACK: thanks man. I still haven't bought the damn thing, because I wasn't sure if everything would work - now I do, so ... now I'm going for it.

Can you please tell me which processor do you use?
