I searched, read, and still can't activate HD3000!

Recommended Posts

Hello all, and merry christmas!

I have a samsung notebook (Samsung NP300E5Z, specs below) that I wanted to install OSx86 Lion (iAtkos L2) on it. I firstly had troubles to make it boot but that was fixed by deleting both AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext and AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext. Still, no Full resolutions, nor QE/CI.

I searched every where and read that I must edit the VRAM for my Intel HD 300 from BIOS, but there were no option for that (the BIOS is Phoenix Securecore Tiano Setup). Iset the System to MacMini but nothing changed. I even tried some kexts I found here and there but nothing worked.

I read some where that I might edit AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext to inject hd3000 ID. Thought I don't know what is the ID and how to inject it.

Can anybody help with this? thanks in advance.

Full specs are:

Intel Core I3 Sandy-Bridge 2.3GHZ

4 GB Ram

Graphics : Intel HD 3000 + Nvidia Optimus 520mx (won't work, I know)

Lan: Realtek

Wan: Intel (won't work, I know)

Audio: ALC269 chip

Thank you, that is a helpful thead. I installed SystemInfo app and found that the DevID for the gfx card is 0116 ... I also opened /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD3000Graphics.kext/Contents/info.plist but don't know how to check for/add that ID?

hi can you upload your DSDT here maybe i can help you to injected

I didn't use any DSDT yet, since the motherboard is unkown for me (Samsung something). Is it helpful to use DSDT auto patcher?

Edit: alright, I added the DevID to the plist file and now It worked fullscreen ... Awesome!

Though, no QE/CI currently :(
