JohnnyFive
I have an HP Envy 4-1015dx, and I cannot find any information on OSX compatibility. Anyone have any insights? Done it before? Is there an easy tool to see if it's compatible or not?

jimmyco2008
It looks like the 1015dx is very similar to the 1045dx, just minus the numpad and optical drive. There's very little difference in the way of important stuff (CPU, chipset, ethernet, sound, etc) between these 10xxdx laptops HP keeps pumping out. Worth a shot. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/283609-guide-hp-pavilion-m6-1045dx-mountain-lion/
cfb44
I have 10.8.2 running on my Envy 4-1015DX. I could not get the installer to come up, so I Installed ML on an external drive first. I had to apply the Lapic fix to get rid of CPUS=1, and a modified AppleAHCIport.kext to get past "waiting on root device", then installed ######. Also had lots of issues with graphics randomly working - sometimes correct resolution , sometimes no acceleration, etc. seems to be working better now, after multiple HD3000 kexts and adding the intel mixed graphics patch in ######. So yes, it is possible, but not as easy as it should be... try the link in the post above - should make it alot easier!
