Out Of The Box Mac

Seems would be easier if someone could put together a package that works with minimal mods etc.

Does anyone have a system for LION that runs OOB or close to it ?

Seems all the modding and changing is alot of work,

best to find compatable hardware and START with that.

That is what we have been saying for over 7 years.

I have to respectfully disagree. Yes it would be easier if you started with known good hardware. However, as this hardware that we use is not Apple, somebody had to put time and effort into knowing if its is good or not. People who are willing to try the unexplored, and yes - occasionally fail - are the ones that make it so easy for the next guy that comes along. If all we had to go on was 'compatible hardware' without some people putting the time into trying new hardware, well - we'd all be using a Mac not a hackintosh.

Also - dont discount the fun factor in trying to get something to work that isnt designed for that originally. Its what drives people to put a HEMI into a Datsun, or a scratchable CD player for DJs, or what drove Steve Jobs to innovate and think outside the box. Like Steve or hate Steve - he had a twinkle in his eye every time he was up on stage trotting out the latest stuff - like a kid who won first prize at the science fair. He was having FUN!

easier - yup. better... that's debatable and based purely on perspective.

...and that's just my perspective!
