i just use GoldFish64's AudioDxe.efi+BoochimeDxe.efi in Drivers64UEFI

1. set PlayAsync=True in config.plist
2. Put custom "sound.wav and sound_night.wav" ini Theme Folder
3. Custom "bootchime.wav" in root of EFI partition to overide Bootchimedxe.efi's default sound.
4. Use Clover r4862

just it.

That's all fine, well and good, but you missed what i really wanted.   I don't want two chimes or three, I want one chime and I want it to chime when I want it to chime.  To me, that would be a delay parameter of some sort, but, there might be other options?

I don't understand exactly about "delay" or something that you want to do.

if you want to one chime when pressing enter in macOS Partition then just use
1. AudioDxe.efi
2. BootchimeDxe.efi
3. Don't put any sound wav file in theme folder

Then you will get audio when pressing enter in macOS partition only.

Sorry for bad english

Well, that's closer, if it works.  But I have my Clover bootloader to automatically load macOS after 5 seconds.  I don't have to press enter to load the OS, and I'm not sure I want to (until Clover gets a reliable trustworthy screensaver).

Am I right in assuming that your way of producing the "chime" sound requires an Enter press?

No,, you didn't need to press enter. Audio CHime will be played after 5 second (in your setting)

What to do for machines that do not have audio until after macOS loads? My Asus z9pe-d8 ws, requires adding HDEF SSDT to even implement sound in macOS.

It's not related to applehda or macOs kexts. It uses clover files "clover + audiodxe.efi with or without bootchimedxe.efi"

I use Z170X Gaming 7 with Creative CA0132 Sound Chipset. Ofcourse i need Hdas to hdef / ssdt hdef in my configuration.

But audio in GUI CLOVER and audio in Macos are different thing default_smile.png

Does NOT work.  In fact, as per usual with BootChimeCfg.efi, it locks up my machine!

Here's what I did:

1.  Put bootchime.wav in the root of my EFI folder

2.  Put BootChimeCfg.efi in with AudioDxe.efi in the drivers64 folder

3.  Removed sound.wav from the Themes folder that I was using

4.  Added parameter PlayAsync to the GUI section of clover and set it to Boolean and true

Not only did my machine lock up, it spit out an error message of "No Audio inputs were found", went the boot menu timer and stopped dead.  Not so good, Andres ZeroCross

Yes, you are right, I need BootChimeDxe.efi, right?

Can someone upload the latest build of BootChimeDxe.efi?  I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks!

I must be missing something. I have BootChimeDXE.efi, AudioDXE.efi in EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI folder and BootChimeCfg.efi in EFI/Clover/tools folder. In Clover options menu I can hear sound when I hit F7, but I do not get a boot chime when I select macOS partition to boot when hitting Enter.

Okay, now I've got two chimes!  One as Clover loads and one that automatically chimes as the macOS starts to load.   Very close.....

1.  i have AudioDxe and BootChimeDxe in the Drivers64 folder (both came from AudioPKG-R1-Release.zip, thanks to Matgen84!!)

2.  I have BootChimeCfg.efi and HdaCodecDump.efi in the Clover tools folder

3.  I have PlayAsync set to Boolean and False (essentially disabled, I believe)

4.  I have BootChime.wav in the root of the EFI folder

So what am I doing that is causing two chimes?  I really only want the second one.....

UPDATE and FINALLY!!  So, I thought I had deleted all of the sound.wav files from all of my themes folders, and I hadn't.  I went back and made sure they were all deleted, and NOW I have what I wanted!

I get one and only one "chime" once the Clover menu times out and macOS starts to load which is just effing perfect!

Thanks to Matgen84 and especially to Andres ZeroCross for pointing the way.

Pavo, I think you may have to use the AudioDXE.efi file from the special package Audio Pkg-R1-release.zip.....which means it's been altered in some way......but I'm not sure about that.

Ok I am still not getting a sound when MacOS loads after Clover menu. Could it be because of  my sound.wav file? Could someone that has thins working test it?

1. I have AudioDxe and BootChimeDxe in the drivers64UEFI.

2. I have sound.wav in EFI folder, where the BOOT and CLOVER folder is located.

bootchime.wav

Ok removed sound.wav and put bootchime.wav inside the EFI folder, again where BOOT and CLOVER folders are and still not getting sound when MacOS is selected in Clover menu after hitting Enter.

Ok made some progress. I moved the bootchime.wav file to the root of the ESP, where the EFI folder is located and getting this now.

2.  I have BootChimeCfg.efi and HdaCodecDump.efi in the Clover tools folder, and again, both came from the AudioPkg zip file

3.  NOTE:  PlayAsync is not relevant.

I just installed this on a second clone and again, it works just as expected (NOTE: Both are 4862 Clover).

Its not Clover that needs to support that CPU, its MacOS that needs too support it. I am pretty sure that if you use a iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS you will get closest to that support.

I made some progress, I can get it to work for Clover GUI but I am still not able to get a chime sound when hitting enter on the macOS partition to boot. I am using the same file that I put in themes folder but renamed it to bootchime.wave instead of sound.wav that is in themes folder.

Update: On October 24, 2020, using clover to solve the macOS11 beta10 boot problem, you can now enjoy macOS11beta10, and the compatibility of subsequent versions is not guaranteed.
HIDPI uses a modified version. You can directly execute the hidpi script to get a better experience. If you lose the repair, it is not within the scope of my support.
Support upgrades without destroying the integrity of the original image.
There seems to be a problem with the shortcut keys. If you can help solve it, thank you for your contribution.

Perhaps it was the first NEC (Lenovo) Lavie Z HZ550 to install hackintosh. I hope more people who like Lavie Z series can experience Hackintosh at HZ550. She is really great.

I found HZ550 & HZ750 on the Chinese website, which is amazing. It weighs only 790g, 13.3 inches, and the standard 2k screen, which is too attractive to me. I am a Hackintosh enthusiast. I think HZ550 or HZ750 with MacOS is the best Unfortunately, the Lavie Z series is not listed in China, only exists in the Japanese and American markets, and in the Japanese market is the NEC brand, while the American market uses the Lenovo logo.

Fortunately, I got an HZ550 from Taobao. Yes, not HZ750. In comparison, HZ750 has more touch screens and 360 ° flip. These are hard to attract me. More importantly, HZ750 is about 200g heavier than HZ550 That's why I chose HZ550. Well, because he is only 2,000 RMB.

The specific introduction can refer to NEC Japan official website:http://nec-lavie.jp/products/hz13b/

The HZ550 hardware list I obtained:

                       -/+:.          ningnan@ningnandeMacBook-Air

Advantages: small size, light weight, 2K screen, 8G memory, 512g SSD, keyboard feels good, and wireless network card can be replaced, which is unimaginable in today's thin and light books.
Disadvantages: The sound is small, almost the same as the mosquitoes.

      Ok, bragging is over!
In order to use the wireless network, I changed the wireless network card from inter 7265 to BCM94352ZAE. Some people called it DW1560. It is uncomfortable that in China, this card and his elder brother DW1830 were hyped to a high price of 480RMB. of. Fortunately, I bought it early, and this card is also very stable under win10, and there is no high delay and outage. The hard disk should be PM951 of Samsung, not PM981, which is lucky.   Before installing Hackintosh: You need to prepare a 16G U disk, SanDisk is not a rough choice for making MacOS installation disk, I used the latest MacOS Catalina 10.15.5, got config.plist from Rehabman, and put together an EFI, the latest version of clover and kext drivers. Thanks to Rehabman and the developers of the Black Apple community. I do n’t like that OC team very much.
Make an installation disk: If you have a computer running MacOS, you can use the command line to make it, if you do n’t have a computer running MacOS, you can try VMware, I know that the insanelymac forum allows discussion, or use ether to write the image to U disk, use the EFI I provided to boot into the installation process.   BIOS setting: Press F12 at boot to enter the BIOS settings, Tab switches to "Security-Secure boot", set to "DISable", this is what we need, and switch to "Boot -Boot devices", set the U disk as the first boot item You can directly enter the clover guide interface, please follow it for google it.
It is worth noting that the remaining space of your EFI partition needs to be greater than 200M, otherwise, the disk format will be wrong. In addition, the format partition format is APFS, do not choose to encrypt, your data is not valuable, at least you must have this awareness of Hackintosh, the file safe is also the same, do not enable, do not use to find your mac, otherwise, change the machine, OK .   Fortunately, no additional ssdt patch is required. All the patch functions are implemented through clover. The flat Apple is turned on. This is to solve the problem of the flower screen. You can find a solution yourself.
Experience your black apple, this will bring a better experience than MacBook Pro.

      Hello All,

It's been a while that I am trying to update my system to 10.15.16.
The install seem to start, then at reboot time I only see the Normal boot and the Recovery option from the Clover boot menu.
None of those 2 allow to complete the update.

Is there any ways to force it to install and/or show the "Update" option on the Clover boot screen?

      PS: I'm using Z97-Gaming-3
