Hi Guys

Despite of Slice's guide, I haven't any sound: AudioDxe isn't compatible with external HDMI. I use Nvidia HDMI audio output on my desktop.:cry::cry:

From Goldfish64 Readme file:

AudioPkg is a set of drivers/applications for supporting audio (currently only Intel HD audio) under UEFI.

Tried it on a H170N-Wifi, which only uses the HD530.

Since the Boards has two HDMI outlets I tested the following on both HDMI ports, but couldn't get a tone out of it.Clover4833-1.thumb.jpg.c896f1ba1190e16d5da2cf5f31458e50.jpg

Switching to "-s 2" I could hear the chime, while i had a headset plugged in at green rear.

I was off for some days. Maybe this has been explained already somewhere else. Anyway, my problem is that when building the current clover revision with Build Clover command, I get the following error:

Processing meta-data .

build.py...
~/src/edk2/Clover/Library/WaveLib/WaveLib.inf(35): error 000E: File/directory not found in workspace
	~/src/edk2/AudioPkg/AudioPkg.de

How to solve this issue?

I think Build_Clover.command will be update. You can post this issue to the Build_Clover topic.

Rev 4834.

Just wonder how can I compile before.

Hi @Slice

Thanks for commit r4833: If I understand well Goldfish64's readme, it works only for Intel HD. My system use HDMI audio via my Nvidia graphic card. How can I have sound at startup on Clover GUI in this case. There is a solution.

No, it just doesn't work for HDMI or digital outputs, there are both intel and nvidia controllers and many audio codecs supported.

VoodooHDA works with HDMI as well as with non-Intel chipsets so yes it's possible just requires a work.

Yes, just need to add digital support, but there is intel and nvidia chipsets support already, the only other one would be amd, that I know of. Don't confuse the controller chipset with the codec chipset.

@Slice thank you for boot sound.

i have a question. how can i reset BootChimeCfg.efi(return original)?

also current gui screen -> play boot sound -> scan drive -> clover gui screen.

when play boot sound, hold 3sec(follow wav sound length), can we play boot sound with clover gui at the same time?

I think -x will be answer to your question.

There is StartPlaybackAsync but it is still not full developed.

Well, my friend's old Pentium laptop has no UEFI support (also non Hackintosh compatible), but he wants Windows UEFI on it so.. I converted whole Disk to GPT, manually created 200MB EFI using gParted under Ubuntu Live and set is as=boot, esp. I restored my prev. Windows 10 64-bit backup using G4L (Ghost for Linux) to a new NTFS partition (/dev/sda2), restoring EFI\Microsoft\ to ESP (/dev/sda1), repairing BCD with Windows PE (bootrec /RebuildBcd bla bla bla) and it's booting just fine using USB FlashDisk with Clover on it (following @fusion71au guide actually, thanks to him).

I then, manually installing Clover using Ubuntu Live into Internal EFI Partition (should be Legacy-GPT, but Windows is UEFI emulated, right?) Bootloader files used: boot (boot6) | boot0 (boot0af) | boot1 (boot1f32) \\Oh ya, I manually copying "BOOT && CLOVER" dir using FileManager, so not included on screenshot below LoL

Seems no problem with bootloader installation on Legacy as usual (I think, CMIIW), Windows is also booting fine.

The only issue is, everytime I powering on laptop it always goes to Firmware screen first (not laptop's BIOS) so I need to always pressing "Continue" to get Clover boot after it.

My questions are:

1. What's causing this issue? I've tried boot6 && boot7 with a same result #btw

2. How to set "Timeout" with only single boot volume (so I don't need to press KB key twice but just boot to Windows directly)? I realized it doesn't work here.

Thanks.

Hi @Slice

Thanks for adding AudioDxe :)

Could you do the same thing with BootChimeCfg in Clover / tools. For those who want to configure the driver. Please.

You have a problem with NVRAM as nothing will ever be saved, you should replace the EmuVar module with the FSVariable module from DUET for some partial support. You can skip clover GUI entirely by just putting microsoft bootmgfw.efi as bootx64.efi.

EDIT: You may want to just use DUET actually.

EDIT2: Oh, actually I think the legacy firmware loads CLOVERX64.efi by default not BOOTX64.efi.

Hmmb that's why how many times I "Change Boot Order" on firmware it'll always reset to default after mach reboot, a same issue with VirtualBox even if configured as UEFI.. firmware configurations are not saved once app relaunched due to lack of NVRAM.

Funny thing here's (sorry, my bad); it boots directly into Clover w/o pressing "Continue" when I plugged Laptop's KeyBoard off (using USB ext-KB to replace it). I just realized that some Laptop's keys are broken (always keep pressed) after checking it using Keyboard Test software under Windows. I think they prevent (or suspend) Clover boot.

Oh great, thank you. Much better idea with single Windows boot (though, I never tried this before.. honestly)

But my friend now (seems) feel happy using Clover bcoz he could place his gf's photo on it (I believe in his mind, Clover=Theme not a Boot Manager LoL).

Yeah but it boots directly into clover with the usb right? So I doubt the keyboard is the issue, although maybe who knows... I know the NVRAM is for sure as there is no way to save the nvram.plist from windows to be loaded later. The FSVariable module from DUET saves the variable store when exiting boot services instead, so no runtime changes are saved but at least your would get semi working nvram. Either that or write an administrator app or kernel driver that dumps the uefi variables into a plist on the ESP. You might want to read my edit in the previous post about the default boot as I forgot it is different for clover legacy firmware, although if he wants to keep it whatever, lol. You can set DefaultVolume to the ESP (which you can get from log) and the DefaultLoader to \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi, then set Timeout to whatever and it should automatically boot. As for the FSVariable module you can edit Clover.fdf and uncomment the line for it and comment out the other lines for NVRAM below or you can try using -DREAL_NVRAM to build and see if the real nvram can be used, however, I'm not sure how safe that is.

latest r4839 build causes freeze gui after scan drive. i can't use any behaviour on gui

Are you referring to Vector theme or..?

no, i'm using bootcamp normal theme.

just after some commits, i got freeze gui. i have to use power down button.

Weird, it' s working fine here.. already pressing "F3" several times and it seems no issue (F3 also scans whole disk besides hide / unhide entries, right?). For reference, I built it with EDK2 (though I see no dff. compared to UDK, both work well on my case), I don't use ApfsDriverLoader #BTW.

Oh cool, I got it..!!!

Fully powering off mach, F11 to reset NVRAM, reboot.. freeze! A same issue like yours (UEFI) LoL, no problem on 1st reboot though. And using legacy it leads me to red screen of death, du no what's wrong with r4839.

(I'm still able booting to Linux using BIOS StartUp key for rolliing back to r4836, nevermind).

      Budget Workstation MacOS 10.14.1 build: z370 AORUS Gaming 5 - i5-8600K - RX 580 - UHD 630

Update: updated WhateverGreen and Lilu, then updated OS to 10.14.3 and everything is fine! Even iMessage, which previously I hadn't been able to make work, is now working - possibly the update flushed the NVRAM?

I'm gonna come straight out and admit it - I used newb tools which are considered taboo on InsanelyMac, and so this isn't so much an installation guide as it is a green flag to anyone considering the same hardware. My first and previous Hackintosh project was just over ten years ago and this site was massively helpful, so this is my (very small) way of giving back.

      ADVICE
With the Clover configuration, you want to pay close attention to all things relating to graphics. There are some specific settings for ACPI, Boot, Devices and Graphics which should be copied exactly in order to get the iGPU and dGPU to work in perfect harmony. For instance, make sure you use ig-platform-id 59120003 rather than 59120000 if you want FCPX to be usable. With the right settings, FCPX will not only run, but run flawlessly.

I was not able to figure out how to make NVRAM/PRAM behave itself, and I got errors when I tried to issue relevant commands. As a result, I could not at first get iMessage to work properly. It worked once on my first installation attempt but not from subsequent attempts. This Clover configuration therefore has no consideration whatsoever toward iMessage reliability - however, iMessage ended up working somehow, anyway - I noticed it after I'd updated to 10.14.3 but this may just have been coincidence.

Onboard WiFi does not work. There is no driver for it. I'm using wired ethernet to a bridge router as it was cheaper than getting a compatible PCI card.

Audio is working well after I installed the z370 audio patch, then the ALC1220 codecs, then AppleALC.

With kexts for generic 3rd party SATA and generic 3rd party eSATA, my HDDs and DVD drive work perfectly well.

Sleep/Wake functions run perfectly. iCloud functions run perfectly. Shutdown leaves the mobo LEDs on, annoyingly.

My USB 3 ports seem to suffer from low power output, and I don't know why.

Overall, this system appears to run about as well under MacOS 10.14 Mojave as it does under Windows 7. I would solidly recommend this build to anyone looking to build a computer for workstation purposes, on a budget.

Good morning, everyone, I'm sorry if I was wrong in choosing the topic but I need help.
I have found it extremely difficult to mount a Hackintosh in my acer.
      Setup;
      I5 2430m 2.4 6GB RAM
      Mobo P5we0 - Intel intel Graphics 3000
At the moment I have not found out what my audio codecs are.
but I'll leave the link on the motherboard.
however, my real problem is several.
I have already used the itakos image, I have already used several images that could be installed normally and that after installing the image I do not have internet via cable or wireless.
And another, I already looked in other forums and I know that I will be called a donkey in the logical question but I have not been able to install the ##### or clover to start from the Hard Disk, so I do not know what to do.At the moment I still do not know if there has already been someone who has already installed the High Sierra or just the Sierra in this notebook model and obtained permanent success.
If anyone can help me, I'll be grateful.
      Installations without success, but with the system already installed in ACER;
      SIERRA
      HIGH SIERRA
      MOJAVE
All with the same symptom. Starting only by the bootable USB stick and without internet connection via cable and wireless.

Since rev 4844 Vector Themes are supported and there are ready-to-use Clovy by Clovy, cesium by Slice and BGM_SVG by Blackosx.
You may see it's structure to create own theme
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I want to add vector graphics support in Clover. See rev 4560 and later.
It is not working yet but designers may begin to create Vector Themes.
It supposed to consist of SVG elements and has design size. It will be rendered to any screen size scaled from design size.

What application in macOS can create SVG graphics?
Inkscape is not working in macOS 10.11+. Pity.
LibreOffice Draw works with SVG but buggy.
Boxy SVG cost 10$ but looks good enough. It creates the best in simplicity files and have more then enough features.
      Illustrator is good but expensive.

      How to improve SVG file?
Clover has restricted support for SVG. It is your job to make compatible file and as small as possible to speedup rendering.
      Some helps:
Help:Inkscape – From invalid to valid SVG Inkscape files
From invalid to valid SVG Adobe Illustrator files
From invalid to valid SVG files of other editors: BKchem, ChemDraw and CorelDRAW
Help:Illustrator – Assistance with creating and saving SVG images in Adobe Illustrator that will pass W3C validation
      User:Quibik/Cleaning up SVG files manually
Later I will write own instructions specific to Clover abilities.

      How to create SVG fonts?
You can google to find ready-to-use SVG fonts. I found some problems with too beaty fonts: slow rendering and overflow crash. Be careful.
You can get ttf or otf fonts and convert them into svg by using online WEB services. Not a problem to google.
But then I want to find a way to simplify the font to reduce a size and speedup rendering.
You can create own font by FontForge It is opensource and available for Windows, Mac and GNU+Linux. It creates otf font which you can convert to svg font.
