First that I see that you have Phoenix EFI. This is EFI implementation that differ from UEFI so we may propose some incompatibilities.

This procedure InstallConfigurationTable comes from the BIOS.

I may propose you to do legacy Clover boot to compare if it will be OK.

Thank you for the reply.

To use legacy boot what is the procedure? And how do I know clover is booting with legacy mode?

I've enabled CSM in bios.  Then installed CLOVER to a MBR formatted usb stick to a 200 MB fat32 partition.  I left "UEFI booting only" deselected and only selected "install boot0af in MBR" and the bluemac theme.   The rest of the USB stick is a hfs+ partition where I used createinstallmedia to copy the yosemite installer.

Did I miss anything?

I would like to create a screenshot of Clover Version 2988.

I have read with F10 you can get a screenshot when booting from Clover (ie BEFORE the selection of the partition I wish to boot)

create a screenshot. I can but the image will not find in the EFI partition and Clover folder.

Where is the stored Scrennshot?

Thank you for this information

EFI partition must be formatted to FAT32 to Clover has write access. Not HFS+ as you probably have.

BIOS set to boot from this hard drive. Not UEFI just boot from hard drive.

This hard drive must have installed

boot0xxx into sector 0

boot1xxx into sector 1 of a partition where the Clover installed

boot file in the root of the partition

EFI folder in the partition.

Sorry but why I should explain these axioms of booting process?

Yes I agree it's a newbie question.  I asked because after several attempts to boot into legacy, I have not been successful and wanted to know if I was missing something obvious.

After I asked, I tried the same USB drive on another computer and it successfully booted legacy without any issue.  I believe the firmware on my laptop defaults to UEFI over legacy if given a choice.  Even with CSM enabled the boot menu only gives one choice even if the drive supports both UEFI and legacy.

So to answer your original question, I cannot be sure if legacy clover would work on this laptop. Although considering chameleon works, I suspect clover legacy would too.

Is there anyway to add support for phoenix uefi?  I'd be happy to compile and test.

Chameleon is legacy boot. Always. So it means there is legacy boot on your computer else you can't start chameleon. Clover started as legacy exactly same way as chameleon. If you can start chameleon then you can start legacy clover. Is it clear now?

up

down?

what is plist with "inactive entries"? I don't know such text files.

config.plist can be opened by TextEdit as usual text file. Forget crappy "Clover Configurator"!

Yes I understand.

My laptop defaults to UEFI if it sees a drive supports both.  I am not given a choice.  Is there a way to install Clover with ONLY legacy?

EDIT:  I deleted /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi and that allowed me to force legacy boot.  I'm sure of this because I can see the "bf1: init"  screen which is the PBR/stage 1 bootloader.

However, after the stage1 bootloader, I get the menu with 5 choices with "continue" as the first option.   In your FAQ this means the /EFI/CLOVER/CLOVERX64.efi file cannot be found.  But I'm sure it's there as it boots fine on my desktop computer.

It boots fine on any desktop machine.

Meanwhile, you should not see "bf1: init" if this is full clover installation because boot1f32 provided with clover keep silence.

If your hdd partitionned as GPT then do not set any partition active and use boot0af as first mbr sector.

Slice, i use plist editor pro and textwrangler. About CC, yes i don't trust that kind of program that almost do the cook and the coffee.

I have my SMBIOS in config.plist set as MacPro5,1 (family, model, serial, etc,.) ; despite it worked well with clover r2999 and 3050 , with r3201 it does not work and clover inject iMac SMBIOS (system profiler). It's a bit frustrating ; furthermore with r3201, i lost my fullHD resolution at bootscreen, windows discs reappears at bootscreen too and trim patch does not work anymore. Ouch!

I can force the output if I partition as fat16 since 1f32 only supports fat32.  I get an error message, but at least I know it's trying to boot legacy.

If I delete /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi to force legacy boot.  I run into this screen.

Hey slice and others,

can you _PLEASE_ add the following information to your Clover online documentation:

- Some UEFI boards like (my) Asus-B85M-G only support booting from the very first partition on a GPT formatted drive!  So if you have an EFI partition first, and you want to boot from an HFS+ partition after the first EFI partition (2+), you will need to write the boot1h2 partition boot block to the first EFI-partition!   So boot1h2 is capable of booting another partition than it is installed on. In my case, my first partition is EFI formatted with FAT32, using boot1h2 (yes believe it or not). This EFI partition has no contents, it is empty! The second partition is the Boot partition, formatted with HFS+ and clover installed on it. The first EFI partition must be also marked as active!  I use boot0ss.

Guys, please extract the information from this and add it to your docs, since this is the only way with my main board to boot from a GPT formatted drive. I tested all combinations for hours.

So, the extract is:

Some UEFI boards will support partition boot from the first partition only, if the drive is formatted with GPT. This first partition is usually the EFI partition, which can be empty and formatted with any format (HFS+ / FAT32 or other). Writing boot1h2 to the first (EFI) partition enables the computer to load clover from another partition after the first partition.

Hello everyone !!!

I have a problem, I Clover V3200 installed on my machine and I can not make partition 1 be the principal to be used;
I tried custom UUID, Default Volume and nothing,
every time restarts with another partition other than the one I want !!
Furthermore it does not automatically mount the EFI partition !!

ok + does not work that part to assemble and choose EFI partition
You saw the Config.plist I sent?

And what should I change for the shares to be permanent?

Post your Clover boot.log (found in /Library/Logs/CloverEFI or the output of bdmesg in terminal).

Maybe Clover is reading the wrong config.plist eg you have installed Clover in more than one place?  You can also try resetting your NVRAM in terminal:

sudo rm /nvram.plist
sudo nvram -c

The boot.log should show which config.plist is being used eg for my desktop....

Using OEM config.plist at path: EFI\CLOVER\OEM\P55A-UD3\config.plist

and whether it finds the default boot volume...

      Hello my friends!
First, idk if that's proper place for this post, if not, please move it.

I'm trying to get Mojave working on my laptop. I have all proper kexts. Everything works great on Yosemite and Sierra, because I'm using Enoch bootloader for them. But I can't get Mojave to work with Enoch, so my only option is Clover.
But I have some troubles with it:
      - I don't have uefi interface in my laptop, so my only option is Clover for BIOS,
      - Niresh Mojave contains only option to install Clover for UEFI. After installing it my system drops to PXE because it doesn't have UEFI so hard disk becomes non-bootable.

But these problems can be solved, I "just" need to install Sierra first, which can be booted via Enoch and then I install Clover using official pkg installer, which has option to install BIOS version of Clover. Then I connect Niresh Mojave USB, Clover detects it and boots installer. I uncheck "Install bootloader" and I get bootable Mojave. Yay

      But the real problem is:
Clover on my device is not working as well as Enoch. Why? Because when I'm on Enoch (for example on Sierra) my kexts for PS/2 keyboard and touchpad (Voodoo PS2 Controller kext) and for Wi-Fi are working good. They are installed in S/L/E and just works. But Clover somehow doesn't want to load them... or has something missing. System booted with Clover has not working keyboard, touchpad working as mouse and not working Wi-Fi.

Guys! What I have to do to make Clover work as good as Enoch? What Enoch has that Clover hasn't? Why Clover can't load any kext EVEN from CLOVER/kexts/other?
I have tried booting with -v but I don't see any error related to that...
      Can you help me please?
Both Enoch and Clover configs are default ones without any modifications.
      Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I have lost all DMGs so I can't install MacOS right now, I need to redownload them but my Internet connection is very slow, so for any logs we'll need to wait. But maybe my problem is very easy to fix so I don't need to send any logs? Thanks for any answer

A few days ago I faced a problem - installed ocquirks and it somehow broke my prelinked kernel. System won't boot then, and I spent more than a day restoring from the netatalk  backup to copy working prelinked kernel directory from the backup to the s/l
So, my question is - how to relink prelinked kernel without that? I found boot args -f UseKernelCache=No but it didn't work. I was able to boot to the recovery, if that can help.

Hi, I'm receiving these two errors before the system automatically reboots.
      36:296 00:063 OCSMC: SmcReadValue Key 4D535463 Size 1 36:351 00:054 OCSMC: SmcReadValue Key 4D534163 Size 2
Using OpenCore 0.5.7, Mojave 10.14.6 installed successfully (from USB, but have not gone through OS setup ie. 'select your country' screen yet) but now selecting the Mojave drive in the boot picker results in the above error.
Hardware is Gigabyte H77-DS3H, Core i7 3770 (Ivy Bridge), Radeon Sapphire RX 580 Pulse, 16GB DDR3 ram.

I had a fully working 10.14.4 install running OC 0.5.6 prior to this.

OpenCore log and config.plist (with SMBIOS serials etc removed) attached - any help greatly appreciated.

      Thank you.

I have been using clover to install and configuration my Hackintosh High Sierra 10.13.6. It's been a struggle and a pain. Can't restart/shutdown/wake from sleep. Random freezes. When freeze happens mouse works but in loading state. UI and open apps freeze not the mouse. I can make the apps smaller and move them.

I haven't used any DSDT nor SSDT. Tried 5 or 6 of them from others but sometimes i end up not booting. Could someone explain me do i even need them and why? Do i need DSDT or SSDT or both?

I'm going to try to install everything OpenCore. The first thing is i can't use a method that needs an internet while installing MacOS cause my ethernet/internet only works when i install MacOS. So i can't use the images i need full installation. Okay i have the full installation for 10.13.6. I need to use a version 10.13.4-6 versions cause application Sketch needs the newer one High Sierra 10.13.4++ version.

Can you tell me? Can i use same kexts from Clover on OpenCore? Secondly how can i install full USB MacOS installer? (High Sierra 10.13.6 version i have is 7gb i think thats it)
Is there a version of AMDHigh Sierra version made from the community for 10.13.4++ version?
If i use the normal 10.13.6 High Sierra should i use this AMD 10.13.6 Kernel when i have installed the MacOS or some other kernel that's better for my system? https://github.com/Shaneee/AMD-High-Sierra-XNU/releases
Whats the best version of High Sierra to use for Ryzen and Nvidia system?

Will it be better to use OpenCore?

      Specs:
      Mortar Max B450M
      Ryzen 2600x
      Nvidia GTX 1060
      16gb DDR4 2400mhz

      My steps so far:
Set up Catalina install USB exactly according to Plain Vanilla guide. Disconnect my Windows drive in PC, so that only the empty Hard Drive is connected to Motherboard. Boot to USB, select Install Catalina option. BIOS set to UEFI, Safe mode Off. Always get stuck at the same IOconsoleUsers: GIOScreenLockState point. Tried -radvesa, -radoff, nv-disable=0 boot options (separately), and disabling BIOS virtualization (vt-d) -> NO luck. This from the top search result https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/b5a6ry/ioconsoleusersgioscreenlockstate_3_blackscreen/
Screen pics attached. Here are the last couple of lines that could be important:
      GTrace synchronization point 4
      Unsupported CPU
      Unsupported PCH
      Adding ADGP mode validate property
hmm.. mismatch sizes 3100 vs 20
      IOConsoleUsers: time(0) 0->0, lin 0, llk 1,
      IOconsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

Please give me some ideas what else might work. Thank you.
