I would like to enter a discussion on this community's use of Clover boot loader. What have you all found out about loading and using Clover? Have you all used fdisk440 to help build your bootable USB? Did you all find the Installation.txt file in Clover?

What has everyone done to get Clover to load MacOS X (be it Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks.)

Hey all!

So I've been running Mac OS X Mavericks and Windows 8.1 together for a while now using Clover.

However through no fault other than my own I messed up my EFI during an upgrade/repair of Windows.

I mananged to get Clover up and running for booting Windows in UEFI again by copying the approriate /EFI/Microsoft/Boot files.

However Mac OS X just goes to a blank screen. Running it with -x -v gives:

Error allocationg 0x28 pages at [some hex at ff1000] alloc type 2

Could not locate driver module memoryBoot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting.

I can boot into the Mac OS X partition with a boot USB (again using -x, since the audio driver is in shambles), tried reinstalling Clover; but alas, no avail.

The annoying bit is that I can't manually inspect the EFI partition in safe mode, since the Fat32 driver doesn't get loaded.

Any thoughts?

PS: For what it's worth: it's a Asus P8Z77-M Pro motherboard with a Intel Xeon E3-1240 V2 and 32GB RAM

slide=0?

If you are using VBoxHFS.efi change it by HFSPlus.efi that can be downloaded from "Clover Instruction" named FSDrivers.zip

Could not locate driver module memoryBoot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting.

Okay, I feel moderately ashamed for admitting this but what happened is the following:

I messed up my EFI partition (ESP) somehow; I got Windows 8.1 to boot but not OS X Mavericks.

Using a USB Boot stick I tried reinstalling and messing with the various Clover options. Unfortunately I had to do so in safe mode, due to other reasons.

Save mode does, however, not allow access to Fat32 or NTFS. So when reinstalling and/or trying different drivers I did so in the designated /EFI/ Folder of the boot drive (instead of the partition).

Now the shameful element is: I kept booting from the broken EFI partition (which I was unable to access) being equivalent to questions like "are you sure you're editing the right file?" … which after an extended period of frustration always has to be answered with "ah no, you see ...".

Booting from the correct EFI configuration (which worked perfectly for OS X) allowed me to fix the partition (yay read/write support for Fat32) throw out all the other stuff and now everything works fine again. Lesson learned. Thanks everyone!

Hi, I have two small problems with my set-up AsRock X79 Professional with E5-1620 v2;

-Speedstep problem; with ssdtPRGen I rarely have x12, x37 always (standard clock) and occasionally turbo x38 (but the processor has turbo x39).
With Clover (GenStates + DropOEM) I often have x12 and normally x37, never turbo. I also have an error: "Failed C-state...". (Attached Image)

-USB problem, I know Mac OS don't like my TI USB3 chipset, I'm using GenericUSB kext or clover patch (for 10.9.3 doesn't work well), but I have problem with USB 2, bluetooth mouse not received well, it's slow, same thing for the keyboard.
Never had any problems with Gigabyte and Fresco chipset. Has anyone ever had similar problems? (Not only with bluetooth, also with device)

Thanks.
Simone

Hi !

I have successfully installed Mavericks with Clover on a Dell Inspiron 1720, after trying without success with Chameleon. (At first I had freezing problems with Clover that were related to a faulty HDD)

My WiFi card is never recognised although it works natively with Leopard.

The WiFi card is an Atheros branded Gigabyte GN-WI01GT (Ven_168C Dev_001C) existing in the Info.plist of the Atheros plugin.

Apprently the card is seen in the profiler but I read it in reverse. (maybe I'm missing something)

Anyway, does the Chameleon argument "Max_valid_dma_addr=1024" exists in Clover ?

I think it is kernel flag and doesn't depend on bootloader.

Anybody familiar with this problem? I tried several things, tried common solutions but nothing works. BIOS settings are correct.

It's a Z77X-UD5H board. Windows can be booted through Clover.

This line

0:313 0:000 Turbo: 37/37/37/39

Means that if the CPU works with 4 cores then multiplier will be up to 37.

If one core (cpus=1) then the multipier can be up to 39.

I will search Intel documentation about this question.

wait, please, I found a problem with your chipset. Should do some workaround or find a regular way to do this.

The main problem is that Clover uses the wrong scope i.e. Scope (\_PR.CNNN) whereas ssdtPRGen.sh knows what scope to use i.e. Scope (\_SB.SCK0.CNNN) and that I tell you is a big problem if you are trying to get power management working. Next to this is Clover using old school power management whereas ssdtPRGen.sh generates data for new style, used by Apple, power management.

Don't worry Slice, take your time :)
anyone knows what are the states (x12, x37, x39 only?) of MacPro6,1 original?

Slice, I'm reading that 1620v2 of MacPro works in turbo state x39 only single core, but I can't see x39, only x38 with ssdtPRGen and max x37 (4 core active always?) with Clover.

Pike, with ssdtPRGen i need to change APFL generated (from Zero to 0x04 i think). I'm not expert with power management but with your script my system works almost always at x37.

Super Respect for your awesome work! Thanks!!!

I'm gonna come straight out and admit it - I used newb tools which are considered taboo on InsanelyMac, and so this isn't so much an installation guide as it is a green flag to anyone considering the same hardware. ADVICE
With the Clover configuration, you want to pay close attention to all things relating to graphics. There are some specific settings for ACPI, Boot, Devices and Graphics which should be copied exactly in order to get the iGPU and dGPU to work in perfect harmony. For instance, make sure you use ig-platform-id 59120003 rather than 59120000 if you want FCPX to be usable. With the right settings, FCPX will not only run, but run flawlessly.

I was not able to figure out how to make NVRAM/PRAM behave itself, and I got errors when I tried to issue relevant commands. As a result, I could not at first get iMessage to work properly. It worked once on my first installation attempt but not from subsequent attempts. This Clover configuration therefore has no consideration whatsoever toward iMessage reliability - however, iMessage ended up working somehow, anyway - I noticed it after I'd updated to 10.14.3 but this may just have been coincidence.

Onboard WiFi does not work. There is no driver for it. I'm using wired ethernet to a bridge router as it was cheaper than getting a compatible PCI card.

Audio is working well after I installed the z370 audio patch, then the ALC1220 codecs, then AppleALC.

With kexts for generic 3rd party SATA and generic 3rd party eSATA, my HDDs and DVD drive work perfectly well.

Sleep/Wake functions run perfectly. iCloud functions run perfectly. Shutdown leaves the mobo LEDs on, annoyingly.

My USB 3 ports seem to suffer from low power output, and I don't know why.

Overall, this system appears to run about as well under MacOS 10.14 Mojave as it does under Windows 7. I would solidly recommend this build to anyone looking to build a computer for workstation purposes, on a budget.

Good morning, everyone, I'm sorry if I was wrong in choosing the topic but I need help.
I have found it extremely difficult to mount a Hackintosh in my acer.
      Setup;
      I5 2430m 2.4 6GB RAM
      Mobo P5we0 - Intel intel Graphics 3000
At the moment I have not found out what my audio codecs are.
but I'll leave the link on the motherboard.
however, my real problem is several.
I have already used the itakos image, I have already used several images that could be installed normally and that after installing the image I do not have internet via cable or wireless.
And another, I already looked in other forums and I know that I will be called a donkey in the logical question but I have not been able to install the ##### or clover to start from the Hard Disk, so I do not know what to do.At the moment I still do not know if there has already been someone who has already installed the High Sierra or just the Sierra in this notebook model and obtained permanent success.
If anyone can help me, I'll be grateful.
      Installations without success, but with the system already installed in ACER;
      SIERRA
      HIGH SIERRA
      MOJAVE
All with the same symptom. Starting only by the bootable USB stick and without internet connection via cable and wireless.

It supposed to consist of SVG elements and has design size. It will be rendered to any screen size scaled from design size.

What application in macOS can create SVG graphics?
Inkscape is not working in macOS 10.11+. Pity.
LibreOffice Draw works with SVG but buggy.
Boxy SVG cost 10$ but looks good enough. It creates the best in simplicity files and have more then enough features.
      Illustrator is good but expensive.

      How to improve SVG file?
Clover has restricted support for SVG. It is your job to make compatible file and as small as possible to speedup rendering.
      Some helps:
Help:Inkscape – From invalid to valid SVG Inkscape files
From invalid to valid SVG Adobe Illustrator files
From invalid to valid SVG files of other editors: BKchem, ChemDraw and CorelDRAW
Help:Illustrator – Assistance with creating and saving SVG images in Adobe Illustrator that will pass W3C validation
      User:Quibik/Cleaning up SVG files manually
Later I will write own instructions specific to Clover abilities.

      How to create SVG fonts?
You can google to find ready-to-use SVG fonts. I found some problems with too beaty fonts: slow rendering and overflow crash. Be careful.
You can get ttf or otf fonts and convert them into svg by using online WEB services. Not a problem to google.
But then I want to find a way to simplify the font to reduce a size and speedup rendering.
You can create own font by FontForge It is opensource and available for Windows, Mac and GNU+Linux. It creates otf font which you can convert to svg font.
