to me it comes to think that it is more a problem of your PCI card in combination with the motherboard, have you tried to change pci slots where inserted?
On my Z370 is a built-in chip on the motherboard and on big sur it is properly recognized

from ioreg on big sur works with the driver asmedia 3142 but in reality it's 2142

Hi, all.

Now Clover is stable and is used as the main bootloader to install macOS and to run an already installed system.
Thank you developers and all for assist.
But x299 and c422 users have a problem. I'm not sure if this is Clover's problem, because Open Core users also report the same or similar problem. There are also isolated reports from other chipsets but mostly it's the x299 and my c422 machine.
This is a stop on a black screen with a thick horizontal cursor and POST code 97 after reboot. The reset button does not help. Only the power button helps.
Problem has been present steadily since Clover version 5123 - 5124 (exactly unknown) and on the Big Sur betas and release.
Apeares after the user, bootloader or system has made any changes to the NVRAM (my guesses).

Hope somebody known solution. Or need developers intervention?

Thank You and sorry my google translated English.

@iCanaro, thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I only have one PCIEX4 slot available for this card. I ordered a Startech card which uses the ASMEDIA 3142 and claims to be supported in Big Sur.

Your problem is likely to come from
FakeSMC.kext \ Contents \ PlugIns \ LPCSensors.kext
\ FakeSMC.kext \ Contents \ PlugIns \ GPUSensors.kext
\ FakeSMC.kext \ Contents \ PlugIns \ CPUSensors.kext
FakeSMC.kext \ Contents \ PlugIns \ ACPISensors.kext
This is a version that does not support bigsur catalina.blaaaaa.
Well, you should use the slide version ..

Need to patch it too, DSDT should work.

@naiclub

I already tried different FakeSMC and VirtualSMC kexts versions, do not helped.

Note: - This Is Stop during machine boot, not Clover or Big Sur,  hackintosh cannot finalise POST-process after reboot. And it doesn't come to the menu of a choice of a disk or Clover's GUI.

Thank you

Good idea. Tested without result. Changes the SATA controller from Generic to 200-series, but it did not help with the main problem.

More ideas?

I will test your EFI Folder and do report later...

Hmm, Bootstrap with Clover, it is new for me...

Update:

With your EFI Folder Big Sur boot Ok. I did not make any changes except set SetupVirtualMap Quirk to No (that is necessary for x299/c422 motherboards).

Black screen with horizontal cursor and POST code 97 went nowhere:(

Hi @Jief_Machak / @Slice ,

I tried a fresh new install of big sur with clover 5126 2 days ago last commit version (usb created with apple official createinstallmedia method). The installation goes well but when it arrives on the last part (the boot where it should start the gui where it let you configure your username, password, internet connection general preferences etc..) it stops to a never end error: too many corpses being created.

I have found this solution on the web, but it seems that does not work on big sur. Could you please indicate me if the command here below should be maybe converted to a Big Sur new folder structure / path or how to solve the problem in a different way? Thank you in advance!

Restart your Mac and hold down Command-R tostart up from macOS Recovery.

If the startup drive has FileVault turned on, open Disk Utility and proceed with the next step. If FileVault is off, skip to step 5.

Select the startup drive and click Mount in the Disk Utility toolbar. When prompted, select a login name and enter the password. Then click Unlock to mount the startup drive.

Quit Disk Utility.

Choose Utilities > Terminal from the menu bar.

Type this command in Terminal:cd /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/var/db/caches/opendirectory/
Modify the command to reflect the name of the startup volume if it's not Macintosh HD. Remember to use an escape character \ before each white space in the command path.

Press Return.

Type this command in Terminal:mv ./mbr_cache ./mbr_cache-old
The mv Terminal command is safer than the rm command. Errant white space in an rm command can destroy the user's data.

Press Return.

Quit Terminal.

Choose Apple () menu > Restart.

The first startup after running these commands takes longer than usual as the cache is recreated. Subsequent startups will take the normal amount of time.

@naiclub, appreciate your feedback. If patching is feasible, could you advise in which way / suggest a good guide to follow  in order to make my USB 3.1 external card bus to work?

Hi @yapan4

Bootstrap.efi is no more use by Clover. This driver was used when Jief made the first attempts to integrate opencore, in September. It can be deleted :) Have a look to CloverPKG you don't see it.

I created a repos for those who don't have time to compile everything Clover and allow them to test the latest developer commits.
I was going to try to upload a package for each last commits ➤ Clover-PKG

Your problem is most likely caused by the video card is not compatible or not.

You need to correct it on your own or have @ MaLd0n .. do it. Which is beyond my capabilities

edit..Which works like my air port Add it by yourself Because it is an external card

I fake the code myself, for example "pci168c, 2b" I fake it as "pci168c, 2a" works with external kext.

Clover r5126

- Wifi intel Centrino N2230 in my case but I have tested it in other community members

- works with many more cards (almost all)

put AirportItlwm.kext in EFI / Clover / Kext / Others in my case

* can be installed also in other Clover folders as the system used but the kext is specific

* can be installed in Library / Extensions with the Chris1111 Droplet or Hackintool

- for less trouble I always use kext in the bootloader as soon as possible !!! that's my advice everyone follows what they think is best ...

leave here the link of the kext intel

here

Thanks :) I test this alpha version with Clover r5126 (Other folder): the kext is well injected via Clover, but it's unstable in ac wifi connection (Intel 9560),  and above all we cannot change the country code (ZZ to FR)
Wait and see.

good afternoon

- test with this Kext to see if it is more stable
as for the region I can't help!

- here I am using it even if the region is not in FR but in ZZ I have no problems or stability!

I just tried itlwm with an Intel AC-7260 to see if it's improved or not, it's good for light browsing, but nothing else really at this state. I barely hit 7 MB/s speed on 5 GHz, that normally would be like ~80 MB/s.

I also had some very annoying bug when using it with OpenCore, after booting to Windows the wifi cannot be launched and used (error code: 10). Even a CMOS reset couldn't help! The only way to get it working again was to boot with Clover (or delete OC and boot with Windows loader)...strange! I opened a bug report but they said it's a problem with OC.

Well, nice work anyway, not gonna lie. :)

Thanks again :) I talked stability for wifi ac 5GHZ/80Mhz only.

Sorry for asking a very basic question here but now that Big Sur is out officially, what is the proper kext folder for Big Sur in Clover?  10.16 or 11.0? Thanks.

Folder --> 11
MatchOS --> 11.x
