Screen Resolution Stuck At 1024x768

Recommended Posts

I have only JUST managed to get OSX86 installed on my laptop, and that was by installing Tiger. However, after all this, there is one last problem. The resolution...

It is stuck at 1024x768 and wont let me make it larger OR smaller for that matter. My computer screens resolution SHOULD be at 1280x800. It also says this post-1083739-0-51002600-1349713691_thumb.jpg so im unsure what i should be doing >.< ive googled around for a kext but nothings coming up :'( I also tried to edit the com.apple.boot.plist but thats dont nothing also

What SHOULD i do XD

So first i would like to ask, what is your Graphics Card, also

try downloading OSX86Tools, once opened, on the bottom section there should be a button called 'Add EFI Strings/Boot Flag'

osx86_1.jpg

There should be this kind of layout after clicking that:

osx86toolsfinal3.png

On the 3rd textbox which talks about resolution (1024x768x32).

For you, just type '1280x800x32' (without the inverted commas) click 'Apply Changes' and restart. But doing this only gives you resolution, if you want full graphics acceleration, you have to get a kext, tell me which one you need and i will try to find one for you, so what is your graphics card?

VMQemuVGA display adapter driver for OSx86 running as a VirtualBox guest. The binary should work on all OSs from Snow Leopard up to Yosemite 10.10. It allows to set different screen resolutions in VirtualBox from System Preferences.   The changes I've made to the fork have been minimal.

Hi, not so much ago i got a geforce 9800 gx2 and i was wondering how do i get it to work on sierra/high sierra? i have tryied a lot of things but nothing worked, i always got a black screen, the only way to get it to boot is by using -nv_disable=1 which will boot the system of course without video acceleration but with one of the 2 gpus detected and the other not. since i am going to use this card for my 2008 dream hackintosh build, with sierra, how do i make it to work?

      Thanks for your answers

      Hello!

I've been running High Sierra (Currently 10.13.3) on VMWare Player 12.5.9.
I'm running it on a Dell XPS 15 9560 with the 4k screen.

Currently I'm able to run OSX in either Native 4k resolution, or scaled to 1080p.

I wanted to know if it was possible to add a 1440p scaled mode? Right now if I force 1440p resolution using VMWare tools, I simply get a smaller window with the virtual machine. So, as I understand, I need to add a HiDPI version of the resolution.

Can anyone lend a helping hand?

      Thank you!

Hi everybody. I can't install my graphics card on my Hackintosh. I've tried several methods and no one of them work, when I go to the tab "About this Mac" it says on Display that I have a 3MB screen and I don't have 1920x1080 resolution.I'm a beginner here in the Hackintosh world so please be patient with me. Hope you can help me. Thank you. Also I'm uploading my Clover folder.
