Shaneee
Hello, I recently bought an AR5B91 and an adapter for my PC. Reason as my USB Wireless didn't work on Lion. I know the AR5B91 works as I have the exact same in my laptop but Lion doesn't see it. I installed Lion on my AMD system in my signature using this guide, www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/278181-amd-1073-guide-experimental-only/ and this is the adapter I got. http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1497.l2649 How can I get it working? LatinMcG
it should work out of the box. unless u using ionetworkignfamily without atheros 40 kext. post ioreg (from ioregistry explorer) http://www.mediafire...3zy1jak437iy6b3 if it was irqs it would show up but work intermitently. so i think its soft issues . or disable quickboot in bios.. after all its amd so im sure u had to use hack kexts. how many slots of pci-e u have ? Shaneee
its your kext then. check the older kext 10.6.8 for 10.7 Tried IO80211Family.kext from 10.6.8 and it now it shows a driver installed but it shows as no hardware installed on the status bar. I modified the kext to add the device and vendor ID but it didn't work 100%

LatinMcG
ive ran into some users that the missing pins kind wont work likely due to pci not properly used.. last time i used amd and mac was 2007 but i do remember it acting totaly strange. i dunno what else to tell u. So the best thing would be buy the one you posted? Its not expensive. The card is detected and it says the drivers are installed and during verbose boot it mentions something about atheros mac and phy. The airport icon up the top says no hardware installed. LatinMcG
tape pin 20 on card... sounds like a bad lion atheros kext. but i have seen issues with the ones with missing pins on some computers. (toshiba and acer) on my dell inspiron 1520 it works fine with or without missing pins ( i tested both) What do you mean tape pin 20? I have an external HDD with 10.7 and AMD kernel on it and with the DSDT it loads the card and it works. I copied the IO80211Family from 10.7 to 10.7.4 but it still doesn't load. In System Profiler it has the IO80211Family Loaded but next to configd plug-in it says none. What other kexts apart from IO80211Family deal with the network? EDIT: Its all working now. Must have been a bad kext. I cloned the 10.7 HDD to my main one. Updated to 10.7.4, Replaced needed files including the IO80211Family from the 10.7 HDD and now its working =] Thanks a lot LatinMcG for the DSDT to get it working.
