Ive got an XPS410 with the core 2 duo E6600 and its running currently at 40/42 degrees Celsius (Core1/Core2) according to application "Temperature Monitor"... Is that accurate to say? Also when i run VMWare fusion it spikes to the mid 50's...

Does OSX cause the fans to work differently? Is it more consuming or something? Or do i just worry too much? lol just making sure my beast isnt going to blow...

thanks for the help!

Can anyone verify that you can do this? what would happen if you cant? Since this is my first and only running version of osx86 i dont want to screw up and get kernel panic, the XPS has been running this stuff like a champ!

By the way (very stupid n00b question) what is vanilla and v8? Sorry lol... Thanks for the help!

If only my Airlink 101 card would stop acting up on me...

Does anyone know how to get a DLink DWL-112 (I think... it might be 122 i dunno...) working under Leopard? I only found Tiger and Panther drivers, but they're both PPC-only.

I'm gonna wait until someone (hopefully Kalyway) releases some kind of hacked installer for 10.5.2 updates. I'm hearing reports of people borking their systems, and mine is running fine and dandy right now!

Patience, padawan! :)

So I'm going to ask again since I have an XPS410 for a bit of help here.

I've been trying to install 10.5.1 both the Kalyway and iATKOS versions and I've had no luck in getting them to install properly it seems.

I've tried a myriad of various install options but they almost all end with the same result. I reboot after a "successful" installation only to not have it even attempt to boot unless I have the disc in the drive.

Leaving the disc in the drive does lead to a boot, but only a boot that shows the 4 language restart message.

What could I be missing?

I've only been installing using the Vanilla Kernel and ACPI fix and with the EFI options.

I've tried it in almost all combinations that I can think of, but nothing works.

Any ideas? Perhaps a step by step guide for Kalyway on an XPS410 so that I can do it all by the numbers to see what I might be missing?

Can someone list the kexts to backup before upgrading to 10.5.2 with Netkas instructions under Kalyway 10.5.1?

Sticman you refer to appleHDA, AppleSMBIOS and Paragon. Not more?

What about NVinject for instance?

Thanks in advance.

nice  just updated to 10.5.2 following netkas guide. no problems even if i rebooted before reinstalling my kexts except sound. oh it's maybe because of deleted AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext but my cpu temps are now 27/28 degrees

Remember, thats running it in a real Mac, I think it's not only a controller issue, BUT it is a heat producing problem! I far as i know you are not suppose to put one of the heat-producing babies in an iMac, as it will burn things!

That does not mean you can use it in your McDell! I'd like to see the disk READ improvement on that thing?

SticMAN

have you tried stac9227_83847618_testing.zip from Taruga? don't forget to delete AppleAzalia.kext after installation

So just wondering, are my posts invisible around here or something? :P

I've got an XPS410 and it seems none of the builds will install for me even when following the install guides to the letter.
