Darthg8r
I need a little guidance on what mobo/CPU combo to pickup. I'm a software developer looking to migrate from an older iMac to a hackintosh. I'm looking for an I7 motherboard supporting 16 gb of ram, 2 pcie 16x slots( for 4 monitor support ), 6gb/s sata, and usb3. I'm not hung up on the latest and greatest CPUs, but need something competitive. My budget is around $1200 and it's important that it supports mountain lion( golden master just released ). I've read that it's normal to have power issues, such as CPUs that don't throttle when not in use and sleep/hibernate issues. Are these able to be overcome, or am I going to be plagued with them? Can anyone suggest a board? Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/281013-motherboard-cpu-direction/ Share on other sites
