Hi,

i' m new to the hackintosh.

I have a inspiron 545 which i want to convert to a hackintosh.

My specs are:

MEMORY : 8192MB (4X2048) 800MHZ DDR2 DUAL

PROCESSOR : INTEL CORE 2 QUAD-CORE Q8300

HARD DRIVE : 1TB SERIAL ATA (7200RPM)

GRAPHICS : 1024 MB NVIDIA GEFORCE GT220

WIRELESS : Dell NETWORK 1505 (802.11 N) PCIE

What would be the distro for a hackintosh ?

Thanks,

I recommend Lion Retail.

Why?

Because:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 - Natively supported

Nvidia GeForce GT220 - GraphicsEnabler=Yes in org.Chameleon.boot.plist / NVEnabler64.kext

Dell 1505 - Natively supported (native AirPort!)

Great PC!,

Thanks for the info!

I've got lion on a bootbale usb which i created from MyHack - i can boot into the lion installer by doing this command

" -v -x npci=0x3000 pci=off GraphicsEnabler=No"

Only problem is.... it can't find my SATA hard drive. i've looked online and it says switch to AHCI mode however i can only switch to

IDE or RAID. Is there a way of getting past this ?

Thanks

Hi,

Me once again! A little further progress now however still struggling!!!!!

I've got the installer to see the HDD and it's installed on the drive, however booting on to the drive is

the hard part. I Boot into Darwin off the USB i then enter

"

-v -x npci=0x3000 pci=off GraphicsEnabler=No"

then it starts to boots and then shows me this -

"Boot-UUID-Media"

then will go into a "Waiting for Root Device" loop.

Any Ideas ?
