Hello !

This error appears sometimes, When a disk (Sata or IDE) don't work, or When there is a sector error on it or a filesystem error. Maybe try to repair your disk with an ubuntu live cd, or change your disk... (don't Forget to save your files ;) )

I had the same error ! I've just reformatted my entire hdd, and it works !

Good luck !
