it should automatically boot into vista on its first start. did you keep your previous os on another partition? if so, you will be able to choose between the two during startup. if not, you won't be promted to choose an os.

 

if you did keep xp or whatever and you want to automatically boot into vista everytime, just go into control panel > System and Maintenance, System, Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Settings under Startup and Recovery, and then select your default os and some other options.
