my grafic card is ATI RADEON HD 5770 1GB

what would b my

ncpi=0x????

and also the Kernel Flags

"-legacy -v ncpi=0x????" can b edited in any .plist file and keep it permanent? insted of typing it every time while booting?

I have a XFX ATI 5770 I flashed a older bios to the card so that it can run out of the box for lion using chimera bootloader.

Add kernel flags to the org.chameleon.boot.plist file in /Extra folder under the Kernel Flags section.

Try npci=0x3000 or npci=0x2000 those are the general values. npci=0x3000 works for me on my motherboard (Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H)

Method 2 install worked on ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 motherboard and AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processor.

Here's some troubleshooting information you can add to your guide if you'd like.

Enabling hardware sensors in the iAtkos L2 install can cause FakeSMC to kernel panic. To fix this, simply remove FakeSMC.kext from S/L/E (note that this of course disables hardware sensoring capabilities).

Instead of typing npci=0x2000/0x3000 as a boot flag, simply install the IOPCIFamily patch in the iAtkos L2 install.

If your system hangs at "DSMOS has arrived", add -legacy to your bootflags.

I had some issues with installing Chameleon, which was odd since I've never had trouble with it, but I figure it's due to my EFI partition, so I'll have to format that if I install Lion again.

However, I'm going to continue to wait for a more stable kernel. Thank you for this guide, it was a tremendous help.

Even I had trouble completing the installation with a bootloader selected in iAtkos L2 installer. A manual installation of the bootloader did the work though :)

-legacy is needed, yes you're right about the other two. :) Use Chameleon Wizard, I've found it a lot more easier to install and update to the latest trunk.

npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000 is used when you're stuck at [PCI Configuration Begin], use this to bypass it. For your graphics card: http://www.osx86.net/downloads/search.html#result

Also there is a rare error, which my motherboard has where my keyboard just can't be plugged in unless I use bootflag USBLegacyOff=Yes. Try unplugging your keyboard after entering bootflags and pressing enter and then unplug. Strange, but I've stalled there numerous times. Also custom kexts shouldn't be used but Evoreboot didn't effect my installation, but you could have some that may be causing a problem. Also your motherboard might has different setting slots for Drives 1 - 4, Drives 5 - 7. Maybe you set AHCI to 1 - 4 but your drive is connected to the 5 - 7 slots, so in theory it's not actually AHCI?

Here's some of the custom kexts I've installed:

  1. FakeSMC.
  2. EvoreBoot.
  3. Disabler.
  4. IOPCIFamily.
  5. RTC.
  6. Realtek RTL.

  • ATI5000.kext configured - For my 5770
  • Atheros Fix - for wireless card (D-LINK G520 REV. B4)
  • VoodooHDA - but keyboard has a built-in sound card too (native) so I don't use motherboard sound card.

Also guide updated, my system seems more stable. See FAQ.

Hey this doesn't fixed the problem. iThink it's because some sort of connection between mac os x and my motherboard - ASUS M4a785-T. IDK what to do now, though. Any help will be appreciated. :)

My motherboard is M4A785-M EVO, very similar. You're family and model number is 10/4? South bridge S600?

I'm currently trying to install iATKOS L2 with the OSInstall.mpkg method.

I installed it and then patched the mach_kernel, I tried all 5. (I think 4 or 5)

When I try to boot it, it's the black screen after "Loading Darwin x86".

Some information: Using VirtualBox, CPU: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.71GHz.

I have 2GB of RAM available, and I gave the VM 1.2GB.

Help please?

By patching it you mean replacing the mach_kernel with one of those linked within the guide? Also sounds like you need a newer build of Chameleon. You should install a newer version using Chameleon Wizard or re-install a newer version. It does work on VM though, I've got it working.

my SB is 710, and my CPu is Phenom ii x4 925 if that's what you mean.

All in All, I think it should work. Can you talk me through the steps you took, simple? Have you got a screenshot of the verbose, it would clear a lot more then just one line :)

hmmmmm, looks like my system will load Lion as I see X4 955 is on the list and I know my board works. but the whole point getting Lion is to use iCloud. I guess I will wait.

Yeah, I mean replacing it, that basicly IS patching...

Well, I'll go try doing that now, gotta re-install OS X and redownload Lion.

(Doesn't Chameleon only work with Intel CPU's?)

Okay, I thought you was running some kind of amd patcher which was created for the snow leopard dyld.

No, chameleon is just a boot loader.

Updated Chameleon to the latest version, and I got past the black screen.

Now, guess what?

I've tried the v4 one, the mach_kernel one, and mach_kernel_amd.

Post your PC's Config.

Make sure your HDD is set to AHCI mode in the BIOS and connected to the first SATA port :)

-v npci=0x3000

arch=i386

or

-legacy -v npci=0x3000

arch=i386

or

or

-v -legacy npci=0x3000

as stated above

-legacy -v -f npci=0x3000

V4 just reads HFS+ when this is done is just restarts.

V5 gets past this goes to AppleUSBOHCI check sleep compatibility and then still waiting on root device as shown by my picture above.

My install procedure was :

1. Use Macbook Air and install OSX LION 10.7.3 (from app store not Iatkos) on Sata HD using a SATA to USB

2. Install chameleon boot loader and replaced mach_kernel

3. Put HD in computer and tried to boot.

Sounds good, but have you actually went into BIOS and set the Hard drive Sata Port to AHCI mode instead of IDE/Raid.

Yes I have my SATA III is set to AHCI and i cannot change SATA II (idk what it is). I have to controllers on my board the SATA III one is SB950 and the SATA II one is JBmicron 362.

I have tried both and neither work (same problem0

(Just as a Side note by (SATA III) I mean REV III which runs at 6 GB/s. By (SATA II) I mean 3 GB/s.

      Hello there!

TL:DR; I built a Hackintosh system using the OpenCore Vanilla Desktop Guide (running Catalina 10.15.4) and I use an AMD Ryzen 1600 CPU and Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU. All works well except my displays are very blurry and it feels like I’ll get a headache if I try to look at the screen for very long. The picture quality is noticeably worse than Windows or Linux. What can I do to fix it?

      --

Let me start off by saying that this is my first hackintosh build. I based my build on the Opencore Vanilla Desktop Guide at https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/. I’m running macOS Catalina 10.15.4.

So I finished installing macOS after slowly and carefully taking about 8-10 hours to go through the guide yesterday and make sure I did everything properly. It paid off - it has been solid as a rock. However, there is one problem that is currently bugging me to no end - my displays are very blurry. This seems to be independent of any application or display resolution. My dock icons are blurry, the system text is blurry, app text is blurry (like in Slack, Safari, Notes, etc). This does not occur in Linux or Windows when using the same screens.

Also, as a test, I hooked up my girlfriend’s MacBook Pro to the same two screens, and the monitors are crystal clear again, just like they usually are in Windows. This leads me to think that my EFI may be configured improperly or my system may be missing some software or a kext that enables the displays to show a sharp image. I attached my EFI folder and my config.plist file for reference.

      EFI setup:
      ACPI: SSDT-EC-USBX-AMD.aml Drivers: ApfsDriverLoader.efi OpenRuntime.efi VBoxHfs.efi Kexts: AppleALC.kext AppleMCEReporterDisabler.kext Lilu.kext RealtekRTL8111.kext VirtualSMC.kext WhateverGreen.kext (version 1.3.8) My boot args are: "npci=0x2000 agdpmod=pikera keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 alcid=1"
      System specs:
Ryzen 5 1600, no overclock or anything special Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB RAM, 32GB total (2x16GB DDR4 dimms running at 2400MHz) XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT RAW II 8GB GPU (this is listed as a PCIe 4.0 GPU, could that cause issues since my motherboard is PCIe 3.0 only? Works great in Windows/Linux) ASUS Prime B350M-A motherboard Samsung PM961 256GB NVMe SSD
      My monitors:
      Samsung U32J59x (32” @ 3840x2160) ASUS MX279 (27” @ 1920x1080) The blurry issue also occurs when I plug directly into my 58" Samsung 4K TV.
      I’ve already tried these steps:
Adjusting monitor “sharpness” settings, totally unbearable at “0” but still looks pretty bad even at “100” Trying a bunch of different resolutions in the “Display” preferences. On the 4k monitor, the only one that looks any better is the 1920x1080p option, but then I have far too little screen space left. Using SwitchResX, no different than using different resolutions in the regular Display preferences Using subpixel antialiasing in the terminal with no noticeable difference, even through reboots Turning on/off AMD FreeSync on my 4K monitor — if I turn on FreeSync, the display lags and stutters, and quality is not any better. Also tried turning on/off “game mode” but that had no difference. Tried switching DisplayPort version between 1.1 and 1.2 in monitor settings (on 4K monitor) Checking my BIOS settings, such as making sure CSM is off, against the OpenCore guide that I used to make sure everything was correct
Does anyone else have some other ideas that could help to correct this issue? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

A few days ago I faced a problem - installed ocquirks and it somehow broke my prelinked kernel. System won't boot then, and I spent more than a day restoring from the netatalk  backup to copy working prelinked kernel directory from the backup to the s/l
So, my question is - how to relink prelinked kernel without that? I found boot args -f UseKernelCache=No but it didn't work. I was able to boot to the recovery, if that can help.

I have been using clover to install and configuration my Hackintosh High Sierra 10.13.6. It's been a struggle and a pain. Can't restart/shutdown/wake from sleep. Random freezes. When freeze happens mouse works but in loading state. UI and open apps freeze not the mouse. I can make the apps smaller and move them.

I haven't used any DSDT nor SSDT. Tried 5 or 6 of them from others but sometimes i end up not booting. Could someone explain me do i even need them and why? Do i need DSDT or SSDT or both?

I'm going to try to install everything OpenCore. The first thing is i can't use a method that needs an internet while installing MacOS cause my ethernet/internet only works when i install MacOS. So i can't use the images i need full installation. Okay i have the full installation for 10.13.6. I need to use a version 10.13.4-6 versions cause application Sketch needs the newer one High Sierra 10.13.4++ version.

Can you tell me? Can i use same kexts from Clover on OpenCore? Secondly how can i install full USB MacOS installer? (High Sierra 10.13.6 version i have is 7gb i think thats it)
Is there a version of AMDHigh Sierra version made from the community for 10.13.4++ version?
If i use the normal 10.13.6 High Sierra should i use this AMD 10.13.6 Kernel when i have installed the MacOS or some other kernel that's better for my system? https://github.com/Shaneee/AMD-High-Sierra-XNU/releases
Whats the best version of High Sierra to use for Ryzen and Nvidia system?

Will it be better to use OpenCore?

      Specs:
      Mortar Max B450M
      Ryzen 2600x
      Nvidia GTX 1060

I decided to extract the immutablekernel for Catalina 10.15.3.
I had to add a FAT header but it extracts just fine.
Thanks to this we have the kernel and kexts for the immutablekernel.
The info dictionary and lists are also included.
Needs further study if it contains extras compared to the prelinkedkernel.
Maybe we can find out what those .im4m files (for example immutablekernel.x589iclydev.im4m) are thanks to this.

      Enjoy
