tobiask
Hey, i want to install OS X 10.6 via EasyEFI, but i have a problem: When i boot the OS X Install Disk, i can see the Grey apple boot Screen but it doesn't load ? i turned off SpeedStep and enabled AHCI, and HPET doesn't have a Option in the BIOS to deactivate. What can i do? My PC: Intel C2D E8500, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8400GS,500GB HDD, ASUS P5Q Sorry for my English. ;-)
rlf
Before you select the OSX Install Disk, set up verbose mode by typing: -v Instead of seeing the grey apple, you will get text on the screen. What does it say when it hangs up and won't boot any farther? rlf
Before booting the install disk, try typing: -v npci=0x2000
tobiask
no, it hangs again on PCI Configuration :/
rlf
OK, try: -v -x npci=0x2000 -x is for Safe Mode. Sometimes the hang at PCI Configuration is about video drivers. Safe Mode should disable the video drivers.
tobiask
It hangs again the Hardware should be compatible…:/
rlf
Try a different bootcd like Nawcom ModCD: http://www.osx86.net/view/2298-nawcom_modcd_0.3.2.html Even the 8400GS generally needs an additional enabler to be added to make it work and you aren't getting that enabler with the combo of the bootcd and retail DVD. mhaeuser
Is it possible, that you use a 10.6.7 or later install disc?
tobiask
yes 10.6.7 , why?
rlf
[PCI Configuration begin] started to show up with 10.6.7 and 10.6.8. EasyEFI was created with 10.6 in mind and Nawcom's ModCD was created with 10.6.3 in mind and 10.6.3 is what most people use when using a boot cd. An alternative is to go get the iAtkos s3v2 distro or go find a retail version of 10.6.3. Or go study up on the ##### system
